Most commonly, it is visual in nature, but there are also other forms and types of
art that we can see all around us that could help us to appreciate more the beauty
of art; thus, here are the 5 types of art that we could see all around us.

Fine Arts
According to Art Glossary (n.d.) it refers to an art practiced mainly for it’s aesthetic
value and it’s beauty, “art for art’s sake”. Fine Arts is established in illustration and
configuration based works.
This includes: drawing, painting, sculpture, and other fine arts (photography,
architecture, calligraphy, and animation).
Drawing- It is applied to works that varied mainly in technique. As the years passed by,
it has become difficult to define. But during the Renaissance the term ‘disegno’ implied
drawing both as technique to be distinguished from coloring, and also as the creative
idea made visible by the preliminary sketch.
Paintings- are creative activity that shows or presents colors from organic or
unconventional substances, like oil or synthetic materials. Mainly acrylic; applying it to
different surfaces from rough to smooth to represent a real or imagined representation
of an image, scene, landscape, or any other subject that the artist wish to represent.
Sculpture- comes from the Latin word “sculpere” which means “to carve”. Technically,
all sculptures are 3 dimensional images which set it apart from other forms of visual
arts. It is mainly defined as the art of carving and molding, which includes the process of
cutting a wood, stone, or metal to create a desired 3-D representation of a chosen
subject.
