SAME Membership

There are six classes of membership in the Society as follows:

a) Honorary Fellow
b) Fellow/Life Fellow
c) Member/Life Member
d) Associate Member
e) Student Member
f) Corporate Member Class A,B,C/Corporate Life Member Class A,B,C

The qualification for the various classes of members shall be governed by the following:

a) Honorary Fellow shall be a person of outstanding professional distinction in the field and
shall be enrolled by invitation of the council. He shall be entitled to the right and privileges
of the Society except voting rights and shall be exempted from payment of subscription.
b) Fellow/Life Fellow shall be a person enrolled by the Council on application to the council
and shall be individual who is an Engineer, Scientist, Industrialist, a teacher, an executive or
a writer in technical or industrial field involving Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering, OR
any one interested in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of Diploma in
engineering or equivalent or a degree in Science from a recognised university/Institute.
AND
Also who is
i) Atleast 40 years of age,
ii) Has been member of the Society in class of member for atleast five years
iii) Has been active in this field for atleast 10 years
iv) Has conducted important work in the field of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering.
In case of very deserving cases the essentiality of being a member of the society for a period
of five years can be waived by the Governing Council.

c) Member/Life Member ​ shall be a person enrolled by the council, on application and shall be
an individual who is an Engineer, Scientist, Industrialist, a teacher, an Executive or a Writer
in technical or industrial field involving Aerospace Manufacturing, OR any one interested in
Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of Diploma in Engineering or
equivalent or a degree in Science from a recognised university/Institute.
AND
Also who is
i) Atleast 30 years of age
ii) Has been active in this field for at least five years
iii) Has demonstrated his competence in the field of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering.

d) Associate member shall be a person enrolled by the Council on application who has not yet
attained the full qualification of the Class of Member and who is an Engineer, Scientist, a
Teacher, an Executive or a Writer in technical or industrial field involving Aerospace
Manufacturing Engineering OR any one interested in Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering
with a minimum of Diploma in Engineering or equivalent or a degree in Science from a
 recognised university/Institute and who is atleast 20 years of age and is engaged in the study
or practise of Aerospace Manufacturing Engineering.

e) Student Member ​ shall be a person enrolled by the Council on application who is registered
as a student of Engineering/Science or an allied field in a recognised educational institution.
Student membership shall extend not more than 18 months after termination of studies in
an educational institution or till he is eligible for associate membership, whichever is
applicable.

f) Corporate Member shall be a registered commercial industrial undertaking, a department of

the ventral or state government, a local body, an institution or a recognised statutory body,
interested in promoting objectives of SAME. Corporate Member who shall have the right to
nominate his employees as representatives to enjoy rights and privileges of the Society as
hereinafter except the right to hold elective post. The number of nominated representatives
according the each class of membership is as under
Class A - 6 members
Class B - 4 members
Class C - 2 members
