I met a child in an orphanage.
She was a sweet, two-year-old girl,
who never smiled, never spoke, hard-
ly cried and even refused to eat. She
was found at the gate of the hospital
by my friend. The girl seemed to be
quite intelligent. But looking into
her eyes filled with pathos, one could
only imagine what horrors she had
already faced in
her brief earthly
life.
All of us who worked in that
ward liked her and did our best to
cheer her up. Usually, such little girls
were sent to some orphanage. This
one was my student and so, when she
recovered, my friends and I arranged
for her to be sent to a well-known or-
phanage. I used to enquire about her
occasionally through the years.
Now, she is a post graduate and
helps many orphan girls who are in
need. The only weapon that she had
in her life to move on was education.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain
has been among runs in every IPL season.
Being a bit slow in parts, Warner still end-
ed as the third-highest run-getter in IPL 13
with 548 runs, at 39.14 and a strike rate of
134.64 with four fifties. As he loves playing
in India, enjoys the added responsibilities,
and is well aware of the challenges in the
format, the Aussie will be a force to reck-
on with in IPL 2021 as well.
Nicholas Pooran
Pooran will be playing a full IPL season in
India right throughout unless injury or
poor form rules him out. In 21 matches, he
has a strike rate of 165.39 and enjoys the
backing of the Punjab franchise’s team
management. With Dawid Malan also join-
ing their top-order, Pooran will have the li-
cense to go all-out against the pacers and

initial stages, he might well end up with

KL Rahul
Punjab Kings’ skipper Rahul will once

Orange Cap that he won in the 2020 edi-
tion. The right-hander handled the added
responsibility of captaining the side de-
cently and brought out his A-game as a top-
order batsman, with 670 runs at 129.34 with
5 half-centuries and a ton. After regaining
his form in the three ODIs versus England,
Rahul will give the other contenders a run
for their money for the Orange Cap.
