1.0 Company Introduction

SAFARA Hijab company was established on 2 April 2021 with seven top boards that hold
the rules. Most of our scarf and shawl fabric stocks are supplied by Hawa Exclusive and we
have regular wholesalers who have quality fabric. At first, SAFARA Hijab focused on
production of hijab to students which is affordable and comfortable to own and wear. This
business is also done from home as well as online. But now, SAFARA Hijab has started to
expand the business to something new and big. The owner of SAFARA HIJAB plans and
decides to open our first branch of our boutique beside online selling. SAFARA HIJAB
hopes to find a place and win the hearts of many customers besides students, especially
women with headscarves today.

SAFARA HIJAB was created to inspire today's women, especially Muslims, who value
elegant and stylish appearance. In addition, SAFARA HIJAB hopes to be a pioneer in the
world of veiled fashion today and will always provide a variety of the latest collections of
more exclusive HIJABISCUTE Enterprise online boutiques. The products we trade are like
Scarf & Shawl which emphasizes the elegant style of today's muslimah and will increase over
time. For example: embroidered shawl, sarong cover for children of all ages, inner neck,
inner shawl and more. In addition, we also provide the best services from us for customers
such as services on how to wear Scarf & Shawl. Providing videos on how to wear Scarf &
Shawl on the SAFARA HIJAB social media. We also provide orders as well as wholesale
orders. For those who want a veil that looks more exclusive, we accept orders from customers
for additional embroidery or beaded stitching.
The business targets a minimum gross income of RM2000 per month and sells various
categories of Scarf & Shawl. In the annual planning, the business will increase the number of
Scarf & Shawl stocks so that the total revenue increases. We aim to be one of the well
-known Scarf & Shawl distributors and get a place and win the hearts of customers. Our
boutique guarantees the quantity of fabrics, designs and stitching of scarves are very good
and at the best place.

2.0 Business Report

SAFARA HIJAB was a new company that had been established for the MGM 3180 course,
founded on 2 April 2021. SAFARA HIJAB sold a few types of scarf and shawl for all
headscarves women combining different designs and material. All of this, we produce a
comfortable , elegant and affordable hijab for every woman. The purpose of selling our
product was to allow our customers to style the scarves in their own way and to make them
look stunning in our product. Other than that, SAFARA HIJAB will show customers on how
to style the hijab. But, just like we said, customers also can style it their own way. This final
report will explain how SAFARA HIJAB Company was built, managed, and established from
administration, operation and marketing.

For administration, it shows the position and function of each member. By having this, each
of our members will be carrying out their work based on their positions and making it easier
to manage the SAFARA HIJAB Company. This final report will also explain how the
company identified and managed to solve problems throughout the business activity. Other
than that, this final report will explain how SAFARA HIJAB Company was established until
delivery of the product. Last but not least, credits and appreciations was dedicated to our
lecturer, Dr Abdul Rashid bin Abdullah in order to lead us to establish this great company
and give a very useful references and information to create an effective business plan,
managing the company efficiently, processing of our product to be sold to customers and also
as our guidance to complete this final report.
3.0 Vision / Mission / Logo

The vision statement reflects the organization’s mission and the reason for its existence,
while the mission statement interprets the group’s plan to implement that vision by
identifying service zone, target audiences, and the organization’s values and goals. An
unimaginable mision or organization is like an assassin without eyes or arms. It shows the
importance of mission and vision and how powerful they are. They help their employees to
make firm and innovative decisions without employing executives or asking what is the best
for the company. This will allow the company to grow and encourage people to be more
responsible to their company. Without a mission and vision , workers do not know what they
are doing or why except just for money.

4.0 Business Organisation Structure

The structure in the organization is made to run the company in accordance with the duties
and functions of each position. The organizational structure can clearly separate the
responsibilities and authority of its members. If in a business or company there is no
important component in the organizational structure, it may experience disruption going
forward, one of which is from the aspect of management and management flow.

4.1 Chief Executive Officer
A chief executive officer (CEO) is the highest-ranking executive in a company, whose
primary responsibilities include making major corporate decisions, managing the overall
operations and resources of a company, acting as the main point of communication between
the board of directors (the board) and corporate operations and being the public face of the
company. A CEO is elected by the board and its shareholders.

4.2 Production Manager


Production managers ensure that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities of the job include: planning and organizing production schedules, estimating,
negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers. ensuring that
health and safety regulations are met.

4.3 Marketing Manager


A marketing manager is a manager in the marketing department. He or she controls all the
promotional and market research/study activity of the company. The marketing manager is in
charge of an internal team. Together with the team, they focus on making sure consumers
know about their products or services. If a marketing manager is in charge of a single product
or brand, he or she is a product manager.

4.4 Finance Manager


Finance managers are responsible for the financial health of an organization. They produce
financial reports, direct investment activities, and develop strategies and plans for the long-
term financial goals of their organization.

4.5 Human Resource Manager

● Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and


evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
● Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for
all positions.
● Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing
program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit
interviews; and recommending changes.
● Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and
training programs.
● Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting
job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay

4.6 Technology Manager

● Recommend creative and cost effective promotional activities.
● Conduct marketing campaigns and trade shows to promote brand awareness among
consumers.

● Collaborate with Advertising Manager to initiate new consumer promotion campaigns
and to develop consumer engagement plans.

5.0 MARKETING PLAN

5.1 Products and services

The product offered by SAFARA Hijab business are shawl and bawal type of hijab. As we
know, hijab are needed for muslim women because it is an obligatory for them to wear it. In
addition, hijab has become a part of the current fashion trend where everyone wants to look
charming with their look especially if they need to attend any occasion. Therefore, SAFARA
Hijab are one of the company that are trying to fulfill every women needs by selling high
quality of hijab with affordable price. We are the retailer company that buying high quality of
hijab by wholesale and then selling it back with affordable price. We decide our own brand
which is SAFARA Hijab that promises customer with high quality of hijab. In the meantime,
every women need comfy type of fabric to ensure they feel comfortable while wearing the
hijab. So, we are preparing them with our best material of hijab which is satin, chiffon,
cotton, chiffon voile, heavy chiffon, crepe, pleated and corn skin. For instance, chiffon fabric
can ensure the wearer feel comfortable as it is light and flowy. Apart from that, satin fabric
also preferred by most females as it is easy to wear plus it is suitable for any occasion. Plus,
in this type of country where the weather is hot and humid all year round, we are trying our
best to choose the fabric that suit the weather to ensure our customer feel all day comfortable.
Apart from that, the hijab are hard to crumple and wrinkling so the wearer dont have to iron
it. Plus, they can save their time especially if they were late for classes and other important
event. The price range for these hijab are RM 18 - RM 25 depends on its measurement,
material, and opacity. The colour offered are pastel and palette color. These colors are
popular and having a high demand among the youngsters. Among colors that can be choose
are offwhite, cream twilight, pastel blue, blue black, black, light coral, cocoa, walnut, sandy,
nescafe, cookies, cookies, dark chocolate, beige, dusty green, pastel green, pastel green,
olive, green and many more.
We are aware that competitors out there are selling the same product as us and we are
discussing some ideas to ensure the customer feels confident and attracted with our hijab.
Among the actions we took are we run the delivery everyday which is every time a customer
purchased with us. Secondly, we will update every newest hijab that is available and restock
the hijab that is unavailable. Thirdly, fast responses from us are promised as we have some
workers that will do the job. Apart from that, we will help our customers, especially many
customers who want to surprise their partner to choose the best material and colors that fulfill
women's taste. On the other hand, our product will be packaged in small boxes with some
wording written in the small card for themselves and some buy for their loved one and also
the scrunchies as an option to ensure our customer is satisfied with us and then repeat their
orders.

5.2. Market strategies

5.2.1 Physical Qualities

Our product uses the best material of fabric and high demand of colors by the youngsters
which is pastel and nude colors. The hijab types are shawl and bawal. Other features such as
colors, materials, and fabric can be chosen by customers itself. In addition, it will be
packaged in small boxes and there are also some shredded papers to make it look aesthetic
and attractive. Plus, small cards requested by customers are also available and they can
inform us of the words they want us to write. Apart from that, there are also scrunchies as an
option and this will be charged about RM 3 if they want. Lastly, our final process is to tie the
boxes with black ribbon to make it look classic and expensive. Our product are prepared by
expert worker and the logo will be sewed carefully to ensure it won't torned the hijab.

5.2.2 Sales Location

Our main platform is social media. Everyone can find us on Facebook and Instagram with
username SAFARA HIJAB and SAFARA_HIJAB respectively. They can buy it with us
through shopee too. So, everyone can get our product. Apart from that, our main location is
nearby UPM. That became our main location as many female students there plus there is also
a person from outside who passed by UPM so this location will become the main attraction.
We will deliver our product the same day as the customer purchased and for those who come
to our shop, they can easily choose which shawl and bawal they want to buy. We also deliver
our product with our own initiative for those who stay nearby but have some obstacle to come
and we will go to them to hand in our product and we will charge them with RM 3.
5.2.3 Pricing Strategies

Pricing is an important element that should be focused in order to attract customers. So, we
have decided with our team members to sell at an affordable price but with an expensive look
of product. This strategy is important as it can attract potential customers to buy with us. For
instance, everyone can get our hijab for as low as RM 18 and the maximum price is RM 25.
These prices are created according to type of fabric used, opacity and measurements. For
delivery, they will be charged based on location. Apart from that, for those who buy with
shopee, they will try to pay based on delivery and special offer stated by shopee. Lastly, for
those who walked into our shop, definitely they won't be charged with anything and buy with
the price that has been stated.

5.2.4 Promotion and Advertising

Our main focus to promote and advertise our product is through digital marketing. Our
products are introduced and popularised through social media Facebook and Instagram. We
uploaded the newest photo of hijab everyday and updated the available type of hijab and
colors to ensure our customer is aware of it. We encourage our customers to tag us everytime
they buy our product and they will get a 5% voucher from us by doing that. Apart from that,
customers can tag us on their instagram story, send their photos to us as proof of buying, give
feedback by whatsapp and messenger for us to attract other potential customers and fix all the
weaknesses from the feedback given by the customer. Beside that, our team members also
worked hard in promoting things where they give free hijab to their family members and
they can promote our product as well. These strategies are important to introduce our product
to potential customers.

5.2.5 Sales Distribution Strategies

We as a team have created a schedule to ensure everyone is aware of their part. Among the
tasks are delivery, updating the newest stock and available product, updating new stock,
entertaining customers, ordering new stock and managing cash flow in and out. Every one of
our members have their own part in this company. For instance, we will list out orders from
customers everyday and deliver them to them on the day they are purchased. Our team
members also will update the newest and available stock everyday and fill and unavailable
stock. Apart from that, a fast response from our team members was also promised. We also
ordered an unavailable product as soon as the product went out of stock to ensure our
customer got their favorite hijab.

5.3 TARGET MARKET

Our main customers are female students around UPM. They can get our product by walking-
in to our shop or buying through a social media platform. We also provided them with our
own delivery for those who are busy with their work. For those outside UPM, they can buy
with us through our social media platform which is Facebook and Instagram and also we
provided them with another alternative which is Shopee that can be accessed by the whole
Malaysian. We also focus on many customers by preparing them with our surprise box for
them to surprise their loved one. In a nutshell, our main focus are student nearby UPM which
is female student.

5.4 Marketing analysis

We conducted a SWOT analysis, by which evaluates the company’s overall strengths (S),
weaknesses (W), opportunities (O), and threats (T). Strengths include internal capabilities,
resources, and positive situational factors that may help our company to serve the customers.
Weaknesses include our internal limitations and negative situational factors that may interfere
with our compan’s performance. Opportunities are favorable factors or trends in the external
environment that our company may be able to exploit advantages. Threats are unfavorable
external factors or trends that may present challenges to performance. The following are the

Our competitors are companies or any individuals who sell hijabs because hijabs are a
necessity for every Muslim woman. This is also a challenge for us to ensure that the hijab we
sell is the most affordable hijab compared to the lids sold by our competitors. However, only
a small number of people are able to offer quality comparable to what we offer, so the
competition will not be so great and we are confident we will succeed in enticing customers
to buy the hijabs we sell.

7.0 Problem encountered

Our first problem encountered for SAFARA HIJAB business plan is communication among
group members. Planning and decision for building and running this business are quite
difficult because we are not meeting in face to face despite only do the online meeting.
Among this pandemic of Covid-19, communication through online platform like Google
Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Team, Whatsapp video and Skype cause confusion and less effective.
This problem is quite big for our male group members who have internet problems to
communicate coupled with the more feminine veil business. Online action makes it hard for
various things to be done quickly.

Other than that, SAFARA HIJAB might receive a lot of criticsm since it uses social media
which is Facebook, Instagram and Shopee as the main platform. As we all know, social
media is a place of spreading slander, expressions of buyer dissatisfication and possibly
acusations from competitors of the same product. Humans are more likely to express the
shame and ugliness of something on social media because they can be like keyboard warriors
on the basis of cowardice. This may bring down this run business as it influences other
buyers when they want to buy our product. For example, we may receive negative and
extreme comments on social media if we are inadvertently sent the wrong choice of goods or
damaged items.

In addition, the sale of this product also has a lot of competition from similar products.
Although SAFARA HIJAB has many advantages such as selling at a cheap but quality price,
having a wide selection of hijab types, providing home delivery service and providing
greeting cards, it may not yet be able to match a similar product with greater advantages.
Since SAFARA HIJAB is a new business, it takes a lot of time to compete with the existing
and advanced hijab business. There is the veil businesses that has long been trusted by the
public and get many customers. Other veil business companies may have other advantages
such as giving a free gift upon purchase and advertising right down to the television screen.

7.1 Lesson learned

The first lesson learned from SAFARA HIJAB business plan is to increase the creativity of
businessmen. Creativity is not something that is easy to acquire and it takes days. Creativity
also is a privilege that needs to be dug up and honed. Creativity in business is important to
make one product different from another. A product that is unique and has its own advantages
will attract the attention of buyers. Among the creativity that has been shown in SAFARA
HIJAB is the construction of attractive logos, various types of hijabs as well as the
preparation of tutorial videos on wearing the hijab. This creativity comes from a strong team
spirit and embroidered ideas from all opinions.
A business really needs good planning in compiling financial reports. Money is the main
purpose of a business. A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be reused to run the
business. The financial report planning specified in SAFARA HIJAB covers the source of
funds and records of expenditure. The source of funds or capital is from the owner of the
company while the expense record involves items, quantities, unit price, overall price,
variable cost, fix cost, cash expenses and non cash expenses. Business report planning will
avoid any unintended risks such as losses in excess of profits. The construction of business
financial reports can provide good lessons in the future.

The final lesson requires communication skills. Communication skills in business member
will help to extend product promotion to a higher level. Buyers of products will be impressed
with friendly and kind sellers. Steady communication will also solve any problems that arise
easily. As examples, solving misunderstandings between members in a business group and
discussing product improvements in order to attract the attention of buyers. SAFARA HIJAB
successfully trained us to emphasize communication because each committee member has to
constantly displays the progress of the task for the coordination of each division. Strictly
speaking, communication is the key to understanding.

8.0 Conclusion

Safara Hijab was founded through our involvement in this Basics in Entrepreneurship
(MGM3180) course, under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Rashid bin Abdullah. Through a
period of a ten-week lecture period as well as hands-on time with the basics of planning and
carrying out the workings of a successful business company, our seven persons group has
come to understand the true basics in entrepreneurship. We have come to understand that
many aspects need to be considered before immersing ourselves in the competitive world of
business.

Overall, this course teach us a lot about how to be a good entrepreneurs. Now, we
know how to be a wise entrepreneurs that have a good characteristics that will lead us to be
successful. In the business world, we learn that every have to face failure for get the true
success. This show that we need to the risk bravely and not easily give up. We know that a
good entrepreneurs have not only focus about the profit but all the aspects. We learnt about
what products or services should be provided. Now, we know about what the customer wants.
We need to do some research about what product should be sold. After that, we need to know
what the things that always been necessity to the customer, so that we can fulfill the demands
of the market. Before we start some bussiness, we need to do a proper business plan so we
can plan things well and smooth.

Lastly, every entrepreneurs not starting with easy , pleasure and large capital. But, the
knowledge that they practice and use have make them grow up successfully. Through this
course, we learnt the importance of determination and will to carry on with our business. We
have learnt the proper attitude to be implemented to become successful entrepreneurs and the
sacrifices it takes to be one. In the end, we believe that MGM3180 has instilled the right
ideologies and practices for us, as students of University Putra Malaysia, to take one step
further in becoming a successful entrepreneur. Or at least, to consider it.
