GUIDELINES ON THE DELIVERY OF DENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR


SDO of NUEVA VIZCAYA TEACHING AND NON-TEACHING STAFF AND
LEARNERS ADAPTING THE NEW NORMAL

1. The Department of Education Bureau of Learners Support Section-


School Health Division, established the 1,663 functional School Dental
and Medical clinics in identified Central Schools nationwide in support
for the School Dental Health Care Program. Hence, 19 School Clinics
were established in the Division of Nueva Vizcaya. This aims to:

a. The prevention and control of Oral health diseases.


b. Deliver basic and adequate preventive and curative oral health care.
c. Provide oral examination and treatment.
d. Provide medical and dental supplies.

2. Once these Dental-Medical clinics becomes functional the Dental


officers, District Nurses and other allied health professionals will be
deployed on a scheduled basis to cater the needs of teaching/ non-
teaching staff and learners of the district.

3. Scheduling will be done on a 3-4 day basis to accommodate the


emergency needs of the clients.

4 . Free services provided are as follows: Simple tooth extraction, Cavity


restoration and Oral Prophylaxis and only guided by the following
provisions:

a. The patient must set an appointment with the dental health


personnel or clinic teacher on duty. Clinic appointments must be

scheduled 2-3 days prior to the clinic duty of the dental officer. On
a First come first serve basis. District Schedules will be announced.

b. 8-10 patients per day will be accommodated at the School clinic.

c . One patient per hour is admitted to ensure the complete sanitation


and disinfection of the dental clinic after each use.

d . The patient must follow Health Protocols set by the IATF,

• Handwashing at the gate,


• Temperature check
• Wearing of face mask
• Do not visit the dentist if having signs and symptoms of
COVID 19 such as cough, colds, fever or flu or no sense of
taste and smell.

e. The Patient must fill up triage form. (for contact tracing purposes).

f. The provisions of this memorandum cover all Districts provided with


Dental-Medical clinics. For districts with no clinics they may go to
the following School Clinics:

• Bagabag ll to Bagabag CS Clinic


• Bambang ll to Bambang CS Clinic
• Dupax Norte to Dupax CS Clinic
• Solano ll-Solano East CS & SPED Ctr Clinic

g. This memorandum takes effect upon the completion of the clinic set-
up and will be announced through a memorandum.
