SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION


Abstract:-
Recent trends in urban housing real estate market has resulted in numerous
Gated Communities that provide residents excellent private infrastructure. A Gated
community is defined as a relatively large number of houses (either Apartments or
independent houses) surrounded by a security wall with a secure entrance gate. In case
of apartments, a typical community consists of several relatively high rise towers each
consisting of several flats. In case of Villas, the community consist of a relatively large
number of independent houses. It is also possible to have a mixture of apartment
towers and villas in a community. Entrance to the community will be through a gate
manned by security personnel and is limited to residents of the community or any one
who is permitted by the residents or the management of the community for providing
services to the residents.  In addition to providing residences, these communities
typically provide several amenities like Gymnasium, Club House, Swimming Pools, Salon,
Child Care Centre, Grocery Store, Parks etc. The list of amenities varies depending on
the nature and size of the project.  Each community has a society managed by a board
consisting of elected representatives of the residents of the community. In Hyderabad
alone, a large number of these communities have come up in the recent years and many
more are under construction.
iVAS business development team has identified this as a great business
opportunity to develop software for managing a gated community. This software will be
primarily used by the society. This software helps the society and its board members
manage and track the residents of the community, track monthly membership dues
owned by each resident, track membership for other amenities. Some of the amenities
are free while others involve additional monthly fees. The functionality provided by
GCOM 1.0 will include ability to add, remove, edit new residents into the community,
keep track of the financial details of the society and generate reports. In the initial
version GCOM 1.0, this will be a desktop client/server product. The plan is to offer this
as a software service in later versions.

1. Introduction
1.1. Purpose
This Software Requirements Specification provides a complete description of all the
functions and constraints of the GCOM System, Version 1.0, developed for the Gated
Communities in the growing urban life style we can consider some examples like

Bhavya’s Anandam which is located at Nijampet which is a construction of Bhavya’s


Constructions and the huge Malaysian township which is located in kphb colony. The
expected audience of this document includes executive members in the Community
who will use the system, the software developer and persons desiring a model for
software development documentation.

1.2 Scope of Project


The software system to be produced is Gated community system version 1.0 which will
be referred to as GCOM 1.0 through this document.

1.2.1 Existing system

Ex-1:At present Bhavya‘s Anandam Gated community is not using any automated
software, they do the paper work to store all their data. The only software they use is
for monitering and recording the community and its surroundings using 6 hidden
cameras at a time. For every work they should manually load the data using the paper
based system.

1.2.2 Over view

GCOM is being introduced to overcome the problems that arise with maintaining the
data and also for atomization of works, because a huge gated community which consists
of many towers with 100’s and sometimes 1000’s of flats. The amenities the gated

In order to maintain all these activities an association of 18 members is being elected


from these they elect a president, a vice president, a treasurer, two secretaries and an
administrator.

GCOM allows all the users to interact with but with different access privileges. So that
the data can be maintained accurately and in a secured manner and the individual flat
owners or tenets can interact with the administrator or any executive member about
any complaints, they also can do the bill payments from their flat. The President can
make any announcements through GCOM 1.0.

1.2.3.2 Security Module
The security module provides vital information to your community security officers. It
displays property information which includes:
 Allowed / denied visitors with pictures.
 Tele-Entry Code Information
 Property Vehicle Information
 Electronic visitor register
 Customized message to security guards.
 Search homeowners by first name, last name, property, lot, or phone number.
 Display community map for driving directions.
Generate the visit announcement call for up to three different numbers. Property phone
number is protected from guard’s eyes to ensure homeowners privacy.
In addition, the module provides a customizable emergency contact list, where
administrators can store local police, fire department and other emergency numbers
which can be dialed with only a click.
The community security guards will have now the tools to make your community more
secure.
 1.2.3.3 Homeowners Module
Happened to have a party at your home tonight? Don’t want security to call you
every time one of your guests arrives? No Problem! With GCOM 1.0, homeowners now
can access their property information and write a message to the security guard.
Alternatively, you can add all your guests to a temporary activity list in which the guards
will control the access to your activity.
Homeowners can also customize their property information in the following ways:
 Add / Remove / Customize property visitors and residents information.
 Add people not allowed to visit your home.

of your community administration. Most communities use commercial spreadsheets or
even manual records to keep track of the monthly maintenance payments.
