TYPE OF FAMILY STRUCTURE:

Family Rofuli is raised by a single parent, the family group consists of one parent and two
children and Mrs. Rofuli is the decision maker of the family since her husband passed away,
they live a simple life together with her children.

GENERAL FAMILY RELATIONSHIP:

The family Rofuli is open to each other despite Mrs. Rofuli husband already passed away, only
his eldest child don’t lived together with them since Jhony Joy (eldest) lived together with his
grandparents, Mrs. Rofuli is the decision maker of the family and is assigned to budget the
money such as paying bills, buying basic necessities and her children's tuition fee.

C. Home and Environment

1. Housing
a. Adequacy of living Space
The family resides in Purok 16 sto nino Crossing bayabas toril davao City. The house
is made of wood and light materials, their room is divided using curtains with no
proper door and wall as a barrier for their rooms. Wedelyn’s daughter sleeps in
another bed while his son Joel sleeps with her in the same bed.

b. Adequacy of furniture or appliances


The Rofuli family don't own so many appliances since they don’t have their own line
of electricity they only rent for electricity access to their neighbor and offer to pay
500 pesos a month Mrs. Rofuli mentioned they only owned a speaker and
electric fan.

c. Food storage
The family practice to cook food exactly for one meal and if ever there’s a leftover
they store it in a food container to ensure the safety of the food until next meal

d. Cooking Facilities
They cook their food inside the house using a gas stove on top of the table where
they eat. They don’t have a dirty kitchen to use as a cooking place but they kept
the dining area clean before eating.

e. Water supply
The family utilized water from a well (bomba) for cooking, for doing laundry and when
asked for water to drink, Mrs. Rofuli said that they don’t buy mineral water to
drink instead they also utilized the water from the well and claimed it was safe
and clean.
f. Toilet facility
The family own a comfort room near at their kitchen inside their house and is kept
clean every day with necessary equipment such as bucket and dipper

g. Garbage disposal
The family made an improvised trash can using sack of rice outside of their house
and they don’t practice proper segregation and the barangay would collect the
garbage every now and then

h. Drainage system
The family just plowed the land to serve as a drainage system and they let the water
dries up in the heat of the sun

i. Lighting Facilities
The house is quite dimmed since they only have 2 light bulb one at their living room
and one in the comfort room

2. Social and Health facilities available

According to the family there’s a nearby health center to their community but they don’t usually
utilize the health center and they don’t avail free access that the health center provides since
they lack knowledge about the privileges they should receive for free.

3. Communication and transportation facility available

They use cellphone as a means of communication such doing phone calls, messages and the
current trend is messenger since it’s free and for their transportation motorcycles or
“habal-habal” and tricycle is available and they only access such transportation means during
emergency

The family don’t engage in doing healthy lifestyle only walks and doing household chores serves
as their exercise and they don’t engage themselves in extra curricular activities such as
basketball or doing some yoga or stretching

The family don’t really give attention to their nutritional status since they only consume bread
and coffee to serve as their breakfast and during lunch they buy viand at the nearby store and at
dinner they only have dried fish or eggs and sometimes their neighbor would give some soup to
them.

The family usually stay in their house doing household chores and during their free time they
access Facebook as an entertainment to ease boredom they don’t usually engage with other
activities.
