    Net positive suction head (NPSH) refers to the difference between the pressure head available from the inlet source and the vapor pressure of the fluid. It is calculated as the pump inlet stagnation pressure and elevation head minus the vapor pressure head of the fluid, divided by the density of the fluid times gravity.
