Note: To ensure compatibility of software DIGSI 5 with the DIGSI 5 projects created by
Festo, do not install in the host computer any version of software DIGSI 5 other than
version 6.00.
DIGSI 5 V6.00 software has been designed especially for the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise/Ultimate 32-bit and 64-bit
with Service Pack 1
Procedure
4. When the Siemens DIGSI 5 V6.00 window about the setup type appears, select
Complete. This ensures that all program features will be installed. Click Next.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions. Note the location of the destination folder for
software DIGSI 5 V6.00.
6. After a moment, a window appears stating that you need to restart the host computer.
Restart the host computer immediately to proceed with the installation.
7. After the host computer has restarted, the installation of software DIGSI 5 V6.00
resumes.
11. If no valid DIGSI 5 license is found on the host computer, a window appears asking to
choose between options that allow to use DIGSI 5. For now, select Start testing
DIGSI 5 Premium for 30 days on this host computer, then click OK for a free trial
period. The license required to run software DIGSI 5 will be installed later in the
course of this procedure
When the Automation License Management - DIGPRE-0501 window appears, highlight Date
DIGPRE-0501, then click Activate. 2015-10-07
12. Upon startup, software DIGSI 5 searches for currently installed device drivers. If none
are found, the Import device drivers window appears. Click Ok.
Note: The Import device drivers window can also be accessed through the main menu
of DIGSI 5 (Tools > Import device drivers).
13. The Select files window appears. Locate the DIGSI 5 V6.00 Device Drivers folder on
the hard drive of the host computer, then double-click on the folder to display its
content in the Select files window.
15. When another Import device drivers window appears, make sure that the Select all
check box is checked in the Device-driver versions section, then click Import.
16. Once the import process is complete, software DIGSI 5 will restart.
Note: Siemens will, upon approval, provide a free license for the DIGSI 5 Scientific
software if you are part of a recognized school, college, or university.

19. On the host computer, start the Automation License Manager application. This
application was installed during the installation of DIGSI 5.
20. In the Automation License Manager window, drag and drop the DIGSI 5 software
license from the USB flash drive to the hard drive (e.g., C:).
24. Select Complete for the setup type. This ensures that all program features will be
installed. Click Next.
27. The DIGSI 5 project files are now installed on your computer (in C:\ProgramData\Festo
Didactic).
Note: If the ProgramData folder is not visible, select Show hidden files and folders
(under Control Panel > Folder Options > View) in Microsoft Windows.
