Introduction
Epiplex500 is an industry-leading enterprise application software suite that helps businesses manage their IT-
driven business process transformations successfully. Epiplex500 delivers a combination of Best Practice Process
Identification, knowledge transfer, learning, end-user productivity tracking and certification, performance
support, process improvement capabilities, Process automation and performance measurement that is unique
in the industry.

Epiplex500 offers advanced process capture, process workflow creation, process documentation, rich
simulation, context-sensitive knowledge assistance, tacit knowledge dissemination, application issue reporting,
and automated process analysis features to enable IT and business units to implement business transformations
with minimized risk, better user adoption, faster time to competency, continuous process improvement and
higher ROI.

Prerequisites
The Prerequisites are included the following Hardware and Software System Requirements for installing and
using the Epiplex500 product:

Speech-to-Text Compliance Speech to Text is integrated and tested on Google
Cloud and Amazon Polly.
Note: Required to Convert Audio to Text
Text-to-speech Compliance Text to Speech is integrated and tested on Ivona
and Amazon Polly.
Note: Required to Convert Text to Audio – optional
Java Access Bridge For better capturing result in Java Application, install
EpiJavaPlugin.exe from product installation path Epiplex500
 Epiplex with administrator privileges.
Terminal Emulator and Visual For better capturing result in Terminal Emulator and Visual
Basic Basic application, it is mandatory to Run Register.bat file As
Administrator from Epinet 32 and 64 bit folder.

Installation of Epiplex500 Capture and Developer

Follow the steps to install ‘Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and Developer.msi’ on your Microsoft Windows machine:
 Download Epiplex500 product and unblock the file. Refer steps of Unblock File.
 Extract the unblocked file and run the ‘Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and Developer.msi’ installer.
 The Welcome setup wizard is displayed.

 Read the End User License agreement carefully and select the I Accept the terms in the License
Agreement checkbox to continue the product installation process.
Note:
 The installation may abort at this point if the computer does not meet the system
requirements.
 Click Next. The Customize Installation screen will be displayed with program feature (component)
list.

 The list of program features available will be displayed under features section.
 Based on the user's choice during installation, shortcuts of the Epiplex500 application to
the Desktop, All Programs and For All User checkboxes are selected by default. You can also deselect
if needed.

 You can change the product destination path by clicking on Browse button and select the desire
installation path. By default, Epiplex500 product is installed in the Current Drive:\Program
Files86\Epiplex500.
 You can also change the Repository location by clicking on Browse button and select the desire
installation path. By default, Epiplex500 product local repository is installed in the Current
Drive:\Users\Public\Documents\Epiplex500.
Note:
 The Epiplex500 Local repository refers to the structured set of Epiplex500 related folders
where all the Epiplex500 generated knowledge objects, author files and packed files are
stored.
 The local repository refers to the Epiplex500 repository created on your personal computer
when you install Epiplex500.
 In case of VDI systems, its recommended to select a persistent folder as repository folder.
 In case of Service Pack or latest patch, its recommended to do a Silent Installation without
uninstalling or deactivating the Epiplex500 product. Refer MSI Silent Installation.

 Click Install. The installation process of Epiplex500 Capture and Developer will be start and
confirmation message displayed on screen after the successfully installation.

 The Installation Complete screen prompts you to the complete the setup.
 Click Finish. The Epiplex500 product installation is completed.
 After the successfully installation of Epiplex500, you can launch Epiplex500 either using the desktop
icons or the Programs menu.

License Activation
Follow the steps to Activate Epiplex500 License:
 Launch Epiplex500. If you are using a product first time, then the Epiplex500 License Manager screen
will be displayed to activate the license.
 Type your Username and Access Key under User Details.

 Click Activate. You will get the license access confirmation message.

 Click OK to allow epiplex500 to use certain information from workstation.

 Select the desire product from the next screen.

 Click OK, activation confirmation message and license information displayed in the screen.

 Click Close. The Epiplex500 home screen appears. Start working on the product.

Maintenance Mode Installation

The Maintenance Mode of installation is available for Epiplex500 Product - Desktop if you want to overwrite,
remove or repair the installed Epiplex500 components.
Deactivate the Epiplex500 Product License before installation through maintenance mode.
Steps to deactivate the Epiplex500 product:
 Open the Epiplex500 Home screen. Click License. TheEpiplex500 License Manager dialog box appears.

 Click Deactivate, the Epiplex500 product license will be deactivated.

Installing in Maintenance Mode

Steps to install the Epiplex500 Product through Maintenance Mode are:

 Run the Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and Developer .msi installer from your installed media. While
initializing, the setup checks for the installed components. On completion of the initialization
process, the Epiplex500 Program Maintenance screen appears.
 The Program Maintenance dialog box in the Setup wizard displays the following options:
 Repair: Select this option to overwrite the components that are already present on your
computer.
 Remove: Select this option to remove all the installed components from your computer. You
can also uninstall the components using the Add/Remove program.
Note:
 If you have selected the Repair option, you will be prompted by the Epiplex500 Maintenance
Complete message box to either restart the system immediately or at a later stage.
 If you have selected the Remove option, then a message box confirming un-installation is
displayed. When you click Yes, all the components are removed from your computer.

Unblock File
Before start installing the Epiplex500 Product, make sure to unblock media after downloading.
Steps to be followed to unblock media:
 Download Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and Developer.msi product file.
 Navigate to the download folder, select the downloaded Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and
Developer.msi file and click on the Properties from context menu.
 The Properties window will be displayed.

 Select Unblock checkbox and click Apply to save the changes.

MSI Silent Installation

Steps to be followed for Silent Instillation:
 Execute batch file Install.bat.
 Run Install.bat with administrator privilege.
 Silent installation will install the media in below default locations.
Product in C:\Program Files (x86)\Epiplex500 path and Repository
4in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Epiplex500\Repository path.

Uninstallation
You can uninstall Epiplex500 from your computer with the help of control panel (Programs & Features) to
remove all the components.
Note:
 You must be logged in as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group to uninstall
Epiplex500 with the Add/Remove Program in the Control Panel. If your computer is connected to a
network, network policy settings may also prevent you from uninstalling Epiplex500 product.
 You must deactivate the Epiplex500 product license first before uninstallation.

Uninstalling of Epiplex500

The steps to uninstall the Epiplex500 Product are:

 Open the Epiplex500 Home screen. Click License. TheEpiplex500 License Manager dialog box
appears.
 Click Deactivate, the Epiplex500 product license will be deactivated.
 Navigate to the Control Panel and select Programs & Features. The list of programs installed in
computer will be displayed.
 Select the Epiplex500 R10.5 Capture and Developer and double click on the product name or right
click and select Uninstall from context menu. The uninstall setup will be initialize and then prompts
with a message for the uninstallation.
 Click Yes to uninstall Epiplex500. Setup uninstall all the Epiplex500 related files.
 If any application is open where use has performed process capture recently, the popup message
will be displayed. Make sure to save and close the applications.
 By default, Automatically close applications and attempt to restart after setup is complete radio
button is selected. This help you to close those application automatically and continue the
uninstallation process.
 You can also choose, Do not close applications radio button if required.
 You can Chose the desire option and click OK to continue the uninstallation process.

 The un-installation complete screen prompts you to complete the setup.

Technical Specifications
This section describes the technical specifications for various Epiplex500 modules and their corresponding
components.
Generic Module
 Formats supported: The audio supported WAV, WMA and MP3 formats. The video supported WMV and
MP4 formats.
 Media Player: The Media Player supported Version 12.

Knowledge Objects generation module

 Document Generation, the above component works with Microsoft Word 2016, Microsoft PowerPoint
2016 and Microsoft Excel 2016 onwards.
 PDF document generation needs the following:
 PDF 995
 Signature 995
 Omniformat

Knowledge Object
 HTML5 Output: The above component works with HTML5 compatible browsers such as Google Chrome,
Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Safari and so on.
