Modified Supplemental Instruction (MSI) :: MSI Begins Monday, October 8th!
At Learning Support Services (LSS), undergraduate students build a strong foundation for success
and cultivate a sense of belonging in our Community of Learners. LSS partners with faculty and staff
to advance educational equity by designing inclusive learning environments in Modified Supplemental
Instruction, Small Group Tutoring, and Writing Support. When students fully engage in our programs,
they gain transformative experiences that empower them at the university and beyond.

MSI begins Monday, October 8th!
Sessions are led by undergraduate students who have previously taken the class and
done well. Students sign-up for sessions on Slug Success and commit to attend weekly
once they have signed up.

Writing Support
NEW! The Writing Studio, Mon Wed Fri, 10am–1pm in McHenry Library #2359
Shared space to read, brainstorm, draft, and work with other writers, with a writing tutor
organization, grammar, or structure of your draft, individually with a tutor. Sign up for an
hour long appointment via Slug Success or drop-in for a 30 min express appointment
**Please note, due to funding restrictions LSS does not provide support for college core courses. Contact your Core instructor for
information about writing tutoring for Core.
Drop-in Math
Drop-in math tutoring provides space for individual attention from a tutor for up to 15 mins per
question/discussion. Students are supported across Math 2, 3, 11A, 11B, 19A, 19B, 22, 23A, 23B and
Students should bring homework, class notes, textbooks, and questions to discuss. Students in the same
class are encouraged to work together while waiting for the tutor. No appointment necessary.
