PROJECT MANAGER
The Project Manager will ensure that safety is never compromised and that all objectives related to health, safety,
environment and community are met or exceeded.
The position requires substantial leadership, influence and communications skills with both direct and indirect reports to
establish management and control systems for project success. The incumbent must have the knowledge, skills and
ability to manage a diverse group of technical and operating personnel and a sound knowledge of professional project
management practices.
The Project Manager works closely with contractors, consultants, GGM management, the CGI Project Management
Office (PMO), PGM Management, and with employees at the Hardrock Project site. The Project Manager will ensure that
all responsibilities are carried out in strict compliance with Greenstone Gold Mines’ Code of Ethics (anti-corruption) as
well as applicable laws, regulations and standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
In conjunction with Greenstone Mines General Manager and Human Resources Manager, develop an
organizational structure, recruit and select experienced personnel for specific positions and delegate
responsibilities.
Oversee the implementation of all required project execution systems and procedures, including but not limited
to HSEC, project controls, procurement and contracts, engineering construction, quality assurance and quality
control.
Ensure the project objectives, scope and plan are well defined and understood by the project team and
stakeholders.
Ensure that the project is in compliance with health, safety, environmental and community regulations and
corporate standards.
Ensure that the approved scope, budget and schedule are established as a control baseline and that effective
change management systems are in place to identify, mitigate and manage change. Ensure changes are only
incorporated after the required reviews and approvals are in place.
Ensure scopes of work and cost estimates supporting Authorization for Expenditures (AFE) are well prepared,
and obtain approvals prior to commencing any work. Monitor costs against the AFEs, and ensure new estimates
are prepared to support changes.
Manage project risks to achieve predictable outcomes and ensure that risk mitigation is considered in the
design, construction and operation of the work and final installations.
Execute the project in accordance with the Project Execution Plan and ensure the multiple consultants and
contractors are managed effectively, including battery limits and interfaces.
Ensure the project is on schedule and budget. Where variance exists, establish a plan of action to correct or
communicate the variance, and ensure mitigation plans are approved prior to implementation.
Establish robust project control systems and processes. Ensure schedule and cost forecasts are accurate and that
contingency funding is appropriately managed. Report progress and forecast progress regularly and
transparently using standard earned value practices.
Ensure the project team follows the proper procurement and contract procedures, while managing the
tendering and decision-making process. Ensure a proper contact person is assigned for any contractors involved
in the project.
Oversee all site activities, including HSEC, site services, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Establish and communicate a handover plan to operations, and ensure that roles and responsibilities for
technical transfer to the operations are well communicated and understood.
Follow the direction provided by the General Manager and the Board of Directors (GGM)

Responsible for a budget of approximately $1B CAD over a 4 year period
Responsible to establish and maintain effective and transparent communication with Greenstone Gold Mines
senior management and Board of Directors
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is based in Toronto during the design phase, but will move to the Hardrock Project site in
Greenstone, Ontario during the construction and commissioning phases
