Introduction
Beelzebub as an old and powerful demon. To make him honor and to know more about him, I have gathered
information from different sources (web site and books) to build this short document. The latter can be seen as a
reference document for Demonolators who wish to work with him. In order to not duplicate what has been done
in many sites, I have put the reference at the beginning and build the text for each section and added personal
feelings and experience when relevant. This document is not an analysis of discrepancies between different sources
but more a compilation of the different information that can be found, without discrediting or favoring any of
them. Some sources may have been ignored (because the content was similar to other) or not consulted so there
could be other information on the great Lord Beelzebub that may have not been covered.

On his name
Note: I will use the name Beelzebub throughout this document.
He has different names but the root is common to all, meaning Lord and the last part (affix) of his name varies in
meaning depending of the language used: of the flies, of the manor/dwellings, Prince and Lord.
Beelzebuth, Belzebuth, Baalzebub, Beelzeboul, Baalsebul, Beelzebul, Belzaboul, Belzebud, Beezelbub, Beezlebub,
Baalzebubg, Beelzebus, and Ba'al-zebu, Pir Bub. He is also known as Enlil.
His titles are various: Lord of the flies (or flyers), Lord of the manor (or dwellings), Lord of Lords, Prince,
Master of calumnies, Devil.
‘The name derives from a Philistine god, formerly worshipped in Ekron, it has later been adapted by Abrahamic
religions as a given name to a winged demon. The name Beelzebub is associated with the Canaanite god Baal.’

On his place within the Hell hierarchy
Beelzebub’s place in Hell hierarchy differs from sources to sources but there is one common and recurrent factor:
he is highly ranked.
Here are the various ranks that he may have occupied, according to various sources:
Chief lieutenant of Lucifer and presides over the Order of the Fly
One of the three most prominent fallen angels, the other two being Lucifer and Leviathan
Prince/Chief of false gods
Supreme chieftain of Hell
Ruler of the infernal regions
Prince of the Seraphim
Prince of demons
Demons of the Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony (also seen as Pride)
Lord of the Flies (Flyers)
Lord of insects
...
On his appearance
Beelzebub is described as to be of a very prodigious size.
Some sources say: Bloated face, flashing eyes, raised eyebrows, black skin. He has two bat-like wings attached to
his shoulders, two duck feet, a lion's tail, and is covered from head to foot in shaggy fur. He has a menacing aura
and sits on throne surrounded by fire.
As described by Priestess of Satan and Suns ‘When he appears he has a very strong and impressive presence that is
commanding and should be respected.’ I fully agree with her description for I have felt the same.
...
On his his purpose
Over the ages, Beelzebub has been called upon to fulfill different tasks. He also has taken parts in many battles.
His purpose varies from: healing bodies, spread diseases from the dead to the living, cause destruction through
tyrants, to cause demons to be worshipped among men, to excite priests to lust, to cause jealousies in cities and
murders, and to bring on war. Also possess minds, tempt men (women too) with pride and gluttony.

Sigils
Here are the different sigils that have been found related to Beelzebub. The sigil of Bael is often seen as well but I
personally see the Goetic demon Bael and Beelzebub as two different entities so I have not included Bael’s sigil
here.
In order, here are the sources for each of them: 1) Satan and Suns, 2) Angelfire 3) The dictionary of Occult,
Hermetic and Alchemical sigils, 4) Grimorum Verum, 5) Le Grand Grimoire.

In Quaballah:
I have not yet study the Quaballah thoroughly so I cannot translate in my own words the meaning of this, thus I
prefer leaving it as-is to prevent misinterpretation:
Chaigidel: Confusion of the Power of God
“These are the confusion of that great power which, as Chokmah, goes forth at the beginning to give the vital
energy of creation to the processes of Binah. The cortex of the Chaigidel is called Ghogiel, 'Those Who Go Forth
into the Place Empty of God'.”
To Chaigidel, “both Satan and Beelzebub are attributed as well as Adam Belial. The name Belial is often used
separately as a demonic name.”
Information on Beelzebub for rituals and workings (there are different schools of thoughts,
choose the one you feel best fits Beelzebub for you)
I have not tryed scrying on black mirror but this method can certainly work for those whose sight sense is strong
and usually see things.
On my personal experience: he likes to be known, that his name make surface again in the human world. He
also likes alcohol offering and sexual fluid offering. I will discover more with time and experience with him.
For simple reference, this a diagram of Beelzebub's Temple at Ekron in Ancient Philistia excavated at Ekron
Altar
Depending on the amount of place you have at your place, you can raise an altar in a room dedicated to him but
most of us have probably only a simple room or a corner in a room for our Altar and magick practice.
I would suggest the following elements to be present: Beelzebub’ sigil (the one you prefer), visual representation
(printed out or drawn/painted, statuette, etc), black candle, incense (one of the 3), alcohol (any), and any other
elements you choose fit for him (tarot card, tablet, crystal, collectors’ insect display, etc).
Refilling his cup of alcohol daily or weekly, offering of live insects, addressing a personal prayer to his intention,
wearing his sigil (pendant, tattoo, etc) are all good suggestions of worshipping intention.

Conclusion
This collection of information is certainly not completed and all the sources are ones that are available on the net
or in books. Working with Beelzebub to know more about him is for sure the best way. This document was
created for demonolators and on Beelzebub’s request to me so I know more about him before working intensely
with him and give him the respect and honor he deserves.
