WEEK 5 – ACTIVITY

Direction: Search the type of Transportation Ownership of the following country and
make a chart to differentiate them.

State and local governments own and manage the vast

majority of roads in the United States, including those in national
parks and military bases. Passenger and freight rail systems, bus
systems, water ferries, and dams can be owned and operated by the
government or by the private sector. Although certain highway
systems, such as the Interstate Highway System, are partially
USA funded by the federal government, they are owned and operated by
state governments. Civilian airlines are entirely owned and funded
by private individuals. Many airports, on the other hand, are owned
and managed by local governments. In addition, most rail services in
the USA are publicly funded at all tiers of government such as the
ALASKA Railways which is the only intercity passenger railroad still
operating today.
The federal government controlled the majority of provincial
and local airports in Canada. New private and non-profit airport
authorities operate Canada's air traffic control, air navigation
services, and wider airports, paying rent to the government and
reinvesting profits back into the facilities. Moreover, municipalities
own the majority of roads and just a small percentage of highways in
Canada. However, the federal government owned highways,
CANADA especially the Trans-Canada Highway. Furthermore, Canada Port
Authorities are federally incorporated, non-share entities that work
independently of the federal government. Even so, non-federal
bodies such as private entities and municipalities own a variety of
ports in Canada. Canadian railways, on the other hand, is owned
and operated by a private corporation.

The Singapore government owns the majority of Singapore

Airlines. They also controlled all of the Rapid Transit System's rail
operating properties. ComfortDelGro Corporation, on the other hand,
is a private company that owns SBS Transit, a multi-modal public
SINGAPORE transportation provider in Singapore that operates bus, train, and
taxi services. Furthermore, the Land Transport Authority, which is
part of the state government, regulates public bus service standards
and owns related properties in Singapore.

The state government owns and operates Indian railways,

while the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways owns and
operates their road transportation. It is the apex body for the
formulation and administration of road transport rules, regulations,
and laws that was previously under the ministry of the Indian
INDIA
government. Additionally, Air India Limited, a statutory corporation
that was established as the National Aviation Company of India
Limited, a government-owned enterprise, was in charge of India's air
transportation.
Transportation on the Mainland, the Civil Aviation
Administration of China, which was created from the Ministry of
Railways, regulates civil aviation, and investigates aviation accidents
and incidents in China. China's airline industry, on the other hand, is
CHINA dominated by the government. The Chinese government broke up
the airline operations into a variety of state-owned companies.
Furthermore, since China is one of the world's wealthiest countries,
the majority of its road transportation is privately owned.
