Give at least three (3) major similarities and differences in the 19th century
and 21st century in terms of economic, political, cultural and religious
development. (80 pts)

- The similarities are they have a same tax collection and bank system. The
difference are they don't have the same progress of economy.
- Political corruption are still existing in the government during those century. The
difference are the Philippines are in the hand of spain and colony of monarchy in
19th century.
- Cultural the similarities during 19th and 20th century education are very
important in every Filipinos. Every Filipino are work hard in the farm because they
don't have enough money to go to school and they have also a discrimination.
While the difference are you must allowed to enter in the agricultural course and
participate in religious activities.
-Religious Development the similarities are the same feast and occasion is still
existing.

2.In two (2) paragraphs, describe our educational system during Rizal’s time with
our country’s educational system today? (20 pts)

Rizal education system

The friars controlled the educational system.
The missionaries are the ones who took charge in teaching.
Catholic religion was very much emphasized in the education system.
Spanish, Latin and a littl e of native language is taught in universities,
Science and Mathematics were not very much introduced to the students.
There is discrimination between spaniards and Filipinos.
The schools for boys and girls were separated.

Education system during present time

There is a wide variety of choice of school depending on the capability of the student's
family to pay for his education.Main subjects are Math, Science, English and minor ones
are Music and arts, Filipino, Sports etc. Mostly the approach to the way the lesson is
taught is very digital. Only licensed teachers are allowed to teach.
