Directions: Explain briefly how the Spanish rules changed the way of life of the pre-colonial

Philippines significantly in terms of:

A. Economic aspect

Before the Spanish Colonialization, Philippines had a simple economic yet abundant in nature’s wealth.
Filipino trade their product to neighbor's countries susch as China, Thailand and especially the south
east Asia countries. Also, before, Philippines compost of different kingdoms and tribes in every island.
Those tribes trade to other tribes and sometimes some merchants visit their tribe and trade it with gold,
copper, bronze, gems and etc.

B. Political aspect

During the Pre-Colonial in Philippines, we already have a political system per island not as a whole
nation. It compost of Raja(the highest ranked in an island.) The most powerful and killed many Datus
and Raja. Next is Datu, under by the governance of Raja. They are the one who protect, guide and help
the Raja to ruled the island. Then, the Babayalan a counterpart of todays albularyo. They also a powerful
person caused the Raja follow them. Their insights, medicine and ways of praying to the anito are the
reasons why Raja obey them.

C. Social aspect

In period where the Philippines is living on their own ways and doesn’t have the influenced of other
countries. Philippines on social class nor status is also based on the power that their family have. Before
that social status is compost of Noble Class the maginoo and have a wealth. Next Timawa, they are the
freeman also have a wealth but cannot be level on noble. Then, Maharlika are the family where the
warriors came. Lastly, Alipin the lowest rank, slaves who should married only a slave also.

Title: Why is important to study the economic, social and politic context of the century Rizal grew up?

History repeat itself a common phrase that we always encountered when we are reading an
article about the past .

Today, we can see that knowing and studying the past really matters and a big help for the
present times and as future reference. As we understand and learn how the economic works before. We
can used it as our reference to have a better and progressive economy. We can used it as a comparison
and get some ideas that can help and improve our country. Then we wont do the bad things happened
before, the decision that they created that get more disadvantages. In the political system, this is where
the phrase really suitable. Studying how the Spanish governed the Philippines would be advantageous
for Philippine Government. We used their way before in governing, the benefits and how helpful. We
can used it also to protect and guard the Philippines in the hand of the dirty and corrupt officials. Lastly,
the social. Knowing the social structure before is also an advantageous for us. We see how Spaniards
belittled us, slave and called indio. Therefore knowing this structure and how they see us before can
boost ourselves to prove to them that we Filipino shouldn’t talk and treat like that.

It’s important to understand or study those for our future reference that we can used. A basis to
compare, can collect ideas and concepts to have a better economic, governance and nation. We can
improved, enhanced and become progressive country by gaining and attaining knowledge about the
field that we are in.
