“Business Analysis VS Business Analytics”

There are a lot of people who consider Business Analysis and Business Analytics are the
same things. It may be considered that it is not understood not only by students but to adults as
well. Although there are some similarities in both of them, (Both examine and enhance businesses,
determine solutions to issues, and establish things based on the requirements), but contrary to
that, it is quite different. In the video, it was shown that even employers are quite confused by the
difference between the two subjects.
Business analytics is used to predict future states and outcomes, and drive business
decisions. The aim of business analytics is examining past business performance and forecasting
future business performance. This is the process by which businesses use statistical methods and
technologies for analyzing historical data in order to gain new insight and improve strategic
decision-making. In shorter terms, Business analytics analyze previous management strategies and
results and use the data gathered to make assessments in the future outcomes. Business analysts
identify and define the solutions that will make the most of the value delivered or handed by an
organization to its stakeholders. Busines analytics help improve profitability of the business,
increase market share and revenue and provide better return to the shareholders.
However, Business analysis is used to solve complex business problems and give efficient
solutions. Business Analysis focuses on function and processes – determining business
requirements and suggesting solutions. Business analysis is the practice of assisting firms in
resolving their technical difficulties by understanding, defining, and solving those issues. Business
analysis skills revolve around understanding the structure, processes, policies and operations of
an organization. Organizations can improve their strategic and technical skills by understanding
current market scenario, with the help of business analysis. This helps them identify where they
are placed in the market compared to competitors and allows them to make changes to make
their current issues better in the next strategy. This is carried out by Data Scientists and Data
Analysts.
