4. Think about your favorite kind of pizza. How is your body provided with each of the four
major biological molecules when you eat this pizza? Why is it important that your food
contains these biological molecules? (5 points)

Carbohydrates are found in foods that contain sugars, starches and grains such as the
crust of the pizza. This is the main energy source of our bodies, aside from this,
carbohydrates also give the brain energy to think as well as muscles.
Lipids are found in butter, oil and fats. This is something that helps in the maintenance of
the membranes in the cells. Fat is considered as a huge energy source.
Proteins are contained in the meat parts of the pizza such as the bacon and pepperoni and
vegetables. Proteins are used to maintain the muscles and the components of proteins
help us put together almost everything in our bodies.
Nucleic acids have to do with the storage and expression of genetic information.

5. Diagram an atom of nitrogen (which consists of 7 protons, 7 neutrons, and 7 electrons).

Be sure to indicate in your illustration the relative size, position, and charge of the
subatomic particles. (5 points)
