Good Evening parents and students, my name is Yamell Vazquez and I am going to be your 1st

grade teacher this year. I will start off by saying a few things about myself. I was born in Mexico

and moved here to Las Vegas when I was two years old. I always knew I wanted to be a

teacher to help other kids that they can be whatever they put their mind to it. Ever since I had

lived here almost my entire life I went to school and also went to a community college and

eventually moved to a university to get my bachelor in elementary education.

Over the past years, I have become very aware of the impact teachers can have on the lives of

their students. I hope that by the end of the year students have picked up something from me

and never forget through their life. It can start by just helping one person or even better more

than one student. I have a lot to offer and willing to give it my one hundred percent for them to

succeed. I am a very strong believer that students learn better hands on. We will have a lot of

activities to discover your children best way of learning.

I would also hope you would take a couple of minutes to write down some thoughts about your

child such as, what should I not wait to find out about them? What are their strengths, weakness

and proudest achievements, or favorite things to do? What are the things they admire most?

What are your hopes for this school year? Also include anything you would like me to know

about them. You might be thinking why I am asking you to do this? I believe that when a parent

and a teacher have communication regularly about a child, the child often has a more

successful school year. The more I know about your child the more I can meet his needs in the

classroom and help them overcome any obstacles they might have throughout the year. This

will be an exciting year and my goal is to make this year the best it can be for each student in

my class.
Our focus this year will be increasing our level of responsibility and accountability this is both for

our students and teachers. The performance will be the overall on how much students have

grown. Our effort will be develop motivation on students, and make students be responsible in

their actions, words plis the work they do. We not only to need “tain” them teach students to

take charge and trust. Also let them be responsible for their success and failure, so they can

learn from their mistakes and continue to grow. Your child and myself will work hard to

accomplish and reach goals, I will also love to keep things as fun as possible. I will send

activities to work on at home because I do believe that students who practice their skills

frequently outside of school will make them learn faster.

I believe that every students has the potential to be successful in this class. If they are willing to

give it their full effort. I am here to help them, motivate them and give them that little extra push

for them to come out their comfort zone and be a bright student. I want them to know that they

can be anything they want from a doctor to someone who makes the minimum wage. To always

follow their heart and do what makes them happy.

I have found the love in children and this is why I am up here telling you parents that I want to

make a difference in the lives of many students as I can. I want to encourage them and help

them realize their potential at a young age just like the teachers I had when I was at school. I

want to have a positive impact on them, and develop their natural abilities and special interest

just as much as their weakness can turn into their strengths if they are willing to try hard for

what they want. I BELIEVE IN THEM.
