-------

I gaze at the sea. Flecks of moonlight twist along the water surface. It’s been five years since I last had a
glimpse of the ocean. Its calmness is inviting, and it sharply contrasts the unforgiving waves on the day
of my last voyage. My last voyage . . . memories flash in sequences in my head. I couldn’t shake off the
turmoil that I inevitably stir whenever I think of that fateful night. I could still hear telltale screams as if
the accident were only yesterday. Morty and Toby were the friends I’ve lost. They saved me by letting
me in the only one lifeboat that night because unlike them, I couldn’t swim. I’d hope for their survival,
and they had promised to come back after they help those who were still trapped. I could still picture
them in my head as they sprint back inside the ship. They never returned after that.
