INTRODUCTION

Technology Integration Strategy is the use of technology in schools is revolutionizing K–12

learning, and principals serve an important role in fostering this change. As Jennifer Demski of

The Journal said, “the most successful implementation of technology programs takes place in

schools where the principal sees him or herself as a technology leader.”

Technologies become a priority in our life; it is integrated in to a lot of fields, even if in

our simple daily life. Also in learning process, technology plays its role, in most Universities
J
U today Integrating technology into the curriculum becomes a priority, however, that technology

should be integrated not as a separate subject, but as a tool to promote learning study skills in
Y
the curriculum as part of the daily classroom. The challenge here is in finding the effective ways

to integrate technology in the curriculum and help students to use it, that don't take time away

from core subjects. So this article will discuss the appraising technology integration strategies to

learn mathematics of BSED-Math students in Laguna University.

Students themselves can explore with the help of technology to have knowledge through

social media, such as google, youtube, facebook etc. Google plays an important role in

education by enhancing efficiency, productivity of teachers and students. Its apps and services

foster higher degree of collaboration, empower students and level the playing field for all. The

S world does not matter. Students can have convenient access to the root of learning wherever
C

R
S develop the skills that students need. Students use Facebook for educational purposes such as

gathering information ,checking to see what friends are up to and sharing information (sharing

links), it results in a positive academic outcome better than when they used it merely for

socializing such as status update and chatting.

In study conducted by Yali Zhao & Frances LeAnna Bryant (2006), it stated that some of the

teachers were able to use technology in many and varied ways for some projects. Many

teachers were found to use technology for lecture presentation and for involving students in the

Internet exploratory research activities. However, technology training alone did not necessarily

ensure that these teachers would infuse technology into their routine instruction and a radical

change in their instructional practices would occur. Teachers consented that technology

integration training is critical in helping them really think about technology integration and make

attempts to use technology with students. However, they need to get technical and human
R
E resource support for continuous technology integration after the training.
G
Furthermore, Okojie etal (2006) concluded in their study that educators are encouraged to

view technology integration from a wider perspective and be reflective in their teaching as they

use technology to support and facilitate instruction. Technology integration should be

considered as part of the process of instructional preparation. Instructional technology should be

identified at the planning stage just as the students’ readiness is assessed, lesson objectives

identified, methods of presenting are established, and evaluation strategies are determined.

Follow-up activities should also be established at the planning stage. Poor implementation of

technology integration is likely to affect the desired outcome.

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE, 2007) and the National
U

CC
technology-supported activities that enhance their learning experiences. Technology can

Battista, 1994; Graham & Thomas, 2000; Hollar & Norwood, 1999; Merriweather & Tharp, 1999;

Schwartz & Hershkowitz, 1999) and improve their achievement (Heller, Curtis, Jaffer, &

Department of Education, 2001; Wenglinsky, 1998).

According to Gladis Kersaint, University of South Florida on the Contemporary Issues of
