"Instinct"

1. In the film, who have shown to have a sense of community? What things, events or scenes
prove that they had a sense of community? Justify your answer.

Based from what I've observed in the film, the prison had the very best evidence in showing
a sense of community throughout the story where Ethan Powell was convicted for killing various
people. The prison had their daily routines, (ex., randomly choosing a person who would have
the chance to go outside). Prisoners themselves acted as if they were in a community and the
policemen guarding to keep them from creating a scuffle. The sense of community was shown
where Dr. Theo Caulder had the chance to explain to each prisoner, and making them realize
the rights that the've lost within the guidance of the policemen which were not doing their job
very well. They've unified with each other, and Dr. Theo achieved what his main goal was, to
draw the prisoners closer to create a unified community.

2. Would you agree that animals and psychotics have a better sense of community than normal
people? Why or why not?

No, I would not agree to think that animals and pyschotics have a better sense of community
than normal people because normal people may have different ideas/opinions but they have the
ability to understand reality more than any other being. The movie may have brought those
psychotics and animals to let the audience believe that they are more unified where normal
people are more rational. Normal people have created systems, nations, belief, etc.,

3. Is a sense of community something that is intellectual or instinctual? Explain your answer.

When we say being in a sense of community, we say instinctual because how animals
interact, create, and build their own nature of lifestyle. Intellectual because as a fact, human
beings have the ability to understand more than other animals. Rationality, is what we have that
put us above them. The best answer therefore in having a sense of community are human
beings, then I say that it is intellectual.

4. Can we somehow say that God's call for human beings to be a community has been implanted
in the human heart? Explain your answer.

Yes. As God calls us, we unify the human race for Him to bring us salvation. We have been
waiting for the Day of Judgement and we prepare ourselves for that time to happen. And as we
prepare ourselves for Him, we unify each other by bringing peace as much as we can to this
world, by the help of our faith.

5. What basic concept of the Church may be found in the film? Explain.

We are called by God to do good for our brothers and sisters in this world full of sin. The
Aftrican jungle where Ethan lived for a couple of years explains how we embrace and practice
the true meaning of life today, we give value to our faith where we would be able to reconnect
with God himself. And as of the world of human beings in the movie where drought and evil
prevails, we like to see ourselves in control or to be controlled by a fake god which we call
system. We like to think that we purposely forget who God really is, and exchanging it for some
control we do not know what path we might end into. Differentiating the two settings explains
how our world is divided today as human beings who follow our faith and His plan of salvation.
