In the beginning, was total darkness,

And the darkness covered the earth’s wholeness,
But He who unconditionally loved the world,
Gave a promise everyone must hold.

Spotless and blameless, forever He is,

Out of humility and love, He paid our sins,
As He silenced the boast of sin and death,
Finished it all for us to burst forth.
