Be Life-Smart

“Change is the only constant thing in this world”, they say. Cliché it may sound, but it is indeed
an undeniable fact in the eyes of every man in the surface of the earth. I should say that I am one among
billions of people who cannot repudiate the fact that change has been contagious and rapidly enveloped
the world: globalization. Few decades had passed and now, we are in the arena of a robot-like system.
The present situation has superseded the old lifestyle of people, bringing about a mountain of alterations
in every details of the humanity.

To be part of the 21st century and to be brand-named as millennials has torn us between two vices.
Why vices instead of opportunity? Living life surrounded by advanced technologies and tons of
innovations actually placed people at the edge where too much and too little utilization of it would create
an enormous impact to every individual. To support my claim, I must say that the world is getting
complicated. The rise of globalization gave birth also to various complications mainly environmental,
cultural, and social problems. Taking it in a positive way, yes, it has voluminous perks to one’s lives.
However, the darkness of it prevails over the light it gives. It has been a threat ecologically. Industries and
factories burning coals, emitting chlorofluorocarbons in the atmosphere, thus, triggering global warming.
Culturally, the local practices are slowly vanishing and even native languages are dying. In some way, it
creates wall instead of bridge among people. It has prompt people, especially young ones, to live in the
cyber world where they can’t truly find their true identity. People are getting slaves of it, trusted
something that isn’t trustworthy.

This mere sad fact must awaken every blinded eyes of people in this generation. If we keep
destroying the planet, where else should we go? If we keep on getting brain washed by Western
influences, can we still recognize who truly are we? If we keep living our lives behind those walls, will
we ever see how beautiful it is in the outside world? I’m not restricting anyone to embrace globalization,
but one thing I want to assure—life is so damn beautiful. There’s so much more than what we have in the
virtual world. We will never know unless we go out and break all the walls that binds us in just one
corner of the room. Build your own character and be an advocate!
