We’re getting there! [ PAGE 9 ]
Let me ask you some questions from the previous activity that you
have.

1. What will come up in your mind when you hear the word “globalization”?

ANSWER:
When I hear the word “globalization”, it comes to my mind the process of
development of economies across the globe and global trades of products that
helps to promote and expand the relation of different countries across the globe.

2. Do you believe that globalization plays an important role in our lives? Why or why
not?

ANSWER:
Yes, I believe that globalization has a significant impact on our lives, and
that it is one of the most powerful factors influencing the modern world.
Globalization has evolved into a reshaping of human life. Through the spread of
products, technology, knowledge, and jobs across national borders and cultures,
it benefited emerging countries and people. It’s important to the student to learn
this concept in higher education to understand and appreciate globalization
because of demand of business and industry for people who can work with
individuals from other countries and cultures.
3. What do think is the advantage/s of globalization? How about the
disadvantage/s?

ANSWER:
Globalization has a significant impact on our lives. It is one of the factors
contributing to the country's economic development. It has a significant impact
on us as well as our environment. Globalization improves our life because of its
numerous advantages. Globalization has resulted in the creation of jobs, the
reduction of consumer goods prices, the stimulation of innovation, and the
promotion of world peace. There is shadow wherever there is light. People and
the environment are frequently harmed as a result of globalization. Climate
change is an example of an ecological challenge. The use of planes, ships, and
trucks to transport goods throughout the world is on the rise. More carbon
dioxide and chemicals are released into the atmosphere as a result, contributing
to global warming. Neither good nor bad, globalization is a reality. It all depends
on how people deals the possibilities and consequences they are facing in the
future as globalization becomes part of our life
ACTIVITY #1. CARICATURE OF GLOBALIZATION.

Direction: Create your generalization about globalization by having a

caricature. And provide a short details about it.

Rubrics
➢ Accuracy 25pts.
➢ Attractiveness 15pts
➢ Neatness 10pts
Total 50pts

The caricature above, as you can see, is about globalization and its effects on
our planet. The wall acts as a globalization barrier. The other side can now walk in
once someone destroys the wall. It has both pros and cons. Trading is now taking
place, and economies are growing. People and the environment, on the other hand,
suffer. More chemicals are being released, and trees are being cut down, all of which
have an impact on people's lives and health. However, it is dependent on how people
deal with it once they have abused it.
Activity #2. Process Questions
Direction: Explain the following questions briefly but accurately.
10pts. Each.

1. What metaphors you are going to use in order to improve your own definition of
globalization? Enumerate at least three and explain one of them.

MEDIA PLATFORM
Globalization is a media platform. It serves as a bridge to the people across
the world to be interconnected with each other

FAMILY
Globalization is a family. Globalization promotes world peace by allowing
different countries to assist one another in the economic development of their
own countries. Each side benefits. Just as a family would

FIRE
Globalization is a fire. In and of itself, fire is neither good nor bad. You can
cook food and heat your home if you use it appropriately. Fire, when used
recklessly, has the potential to harm people, buildings, and the environment.
Similar to globalization, if employed correctly, it can provide several benefits
such as economic prosperity and international peace. If you use it recklessly, it
will have negative consequences for the environment and society, such as climate
change and increased greenhouse gas emissions, which will have an impact on
people's daily lives and health. Individuals, on the other hand, are responsible
for dealing with the situation.
2. Give at least one concrete example in each type of flows.

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL FLOWS
Smartphones manufacture in China such as Vivo, Oppo, Oneplus, Realme

INTERCONNECTED FLOWS
Global Sex industry

CONFLICTING FLOWS
Rapid growth of economies like the United States, aided by globalization,
could also contribute to conflict if demand for raw materials increased faster
than supply.

REVERSE FLOWS
Coronavirus, also known as Covid-19, is a virus that is “exported” to other
regions of the world before returning to infect its original location.
