“ A CALL FOR CHANGE”

BY: GROUP 3

"THE ENVIRONMENT IS NO ONE'S PROPERTY TO DESTROY; IT'S EVERYONE'S

RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT"
This a quote that I could forget never imagined that a time will come when it would be hard to
achieve since everyone knows the state of the earth seeing other people trying their best to
restore the beauty of the earth while others are not even trying. In many towns in today's world
recycling is near normal in certain areas you can never promise that recycling is done every time
in the Philippines thousands of landfills are filled with clothes and trash that came from us and
the sad thing is people live in those landfills and affect their lifestyle you can never be promised
that everyone will do recycling every time especially the Philippines is the country that produces
most of plastics, rubber, aluminum, and cartons which is one the things that are hard to recycle
since some of the items are composed of different materials which make it harder to separate
meaning harder to recycle. In this picture taken by Elisabetta Zavoli shows people living in
poverty and risking their life by living in landfills because they have no place to stay Thousands
of people live among garbage in the Indonesian city of Bekasi, just east of Jakarta. In numerous
small villages close to Bantar Gebang, Jakarta's biggest dump, where mountains of plastics,
metals, textiles, and other solid garbage grow nearly ten floors high, Mak Muji, a 55-year-old
midwife, and other trash collectors live. Residents recently demanded compensation (sometimes
known as "stench money") from the local regency in charge of the location because the smell is
so overpowering.

But in a given fact recycling made a big impact and change in the world it made whole advocacy
and became a stepping stone in realizing how much damage we have done to the earth and how
much will it help to improve the earth, with this the society and individuals started being vocal
on the change and impact of recycling and how does neglect taking care of the environment
affected the lifestyle of a person or an individual it became an eye open to politicians,
businessman, everyone how much we people have been damaging the earth politicians started
doing cleaning drives implementing separating or classifying waste and began tackling to clean
landfills that people live in and businessman started realizing how their companies have been
making thousands of their products to landfills which stared affecting the oceans, individuals,
and started being pollution.

Watching those videos and documentaries was a hard task for me to complete. Making an essay
with it was easy but I and my teammates wanted to make something that we can understand and
that touched our hearts, but I managed to finish watching those videos and holding those tears. It
was nearly too impossible, but we were able to manage it, losing my house due to deforestation,
losing a loved one from an uncurable disease because of an unsafety lifestyle, and living in a
landfill. None of us would ever imagine experiencing this situation. This is a situation that could
go worse if we won't take action.
Taking of our environment affects the improvement and growth of individuals, without our
environment which is our major need to grow will affect the economy living, education, one's
medical needs it's not just one country that will be affected but it will have an effect globally the
environment is our major source of food, shelter, and many more without this it would make us
starve to death and will be a barricade in the growth of individual and one's country. The past
civilizations have made a major impact on our growth no one could ever imagine the resources
that we have today and the major discoveries that have been made whether it's technology,
medicine, or living with the help of the past we're able to build a brighter future for the next
generation that will come.
Every part of the world has been raising awareness of this global problem with the help of
different sectors it was being tackled piece by piece even though solutions and improvement are
showing slowly there's still hope for a change.
