The Race is On-Climate Change Documentary produced by Paul Maple and James

Dyke is all about the possible effects and risks of climate change to us and to the environment
in the future. It was predicted that the temperature will rise if we continue to emit as many, or
more, greenhouse gases, this will cause more warming during the 21st Century than we saw
in the 20th Century. It also tackled the impacts of climate change in changing precipitation,
melting snow and ice, rising sea level, acidic ocean water, and on ocean currents that can
harm us and the environment. In that case, the documentary video gave some ways on how
we can contribute to the prevention of climate change and the things to do or remember to
help lessen the danger of climate change for the safety of the people and the earth.

When I was watching the video, I was amazed and disappointed at the same time. I
am amazed how progress we are now. I am amazed by how far we’ve reached and by the
changes that we experienced in terms of technology, way of living and even the changes in
our environment. I am amazed by the inventions of cars, the establishment of buildings,
fabrics and more that make our life easier and convenient. We became more civilized and
modernized but despite those I am disappointed also when I saw the impacts of this
modernization and progress to our environment. We became careless, especially in our
environment. The changes in our behaviours, actions and modernization affected our
environment without even noticing it that may cause risks and harm to us in the future. Those
gasses produced by vehicles, fabrics, humans, and all other things can contribute to the
aggravation of climate change. The pollution we make every single day from our houses to
outside of our homes, the garbage we throw, and our lack of discipline can make things worse
that someday we are going to regret. I am amazed by the beauty and power of nature but I am
disappointed by our behaviours and actions towards our environment. I am grateful for some
of the changes that we are experiencing right now but I am sad by the changes we give to our
environment.

In my opinion, this documentary can be an instrument to open our eyes to the reality
and outcome of our actions. It is a big help because it contains information that will help us
prevent the risk of climate change for us and for the next generations in the future. We still
have the opportunity to make a change and we need unity to achieve this change. This Global
documentary was born out of the idea that if we want to solve a climate crisis, then it is
necessary first to communicate the forces to create ideas and solutions. Their aim is to tell the
climate story in a way that people can easily understand, and in doing so help shape our
global community and help build a new model that makes existing models antiquated.
The world without oil is a documentary video that shows what happens to the world if
the presence of oil is nowhere to be found.  It was also shown in the video how long people
and countries will survive and possible outcomes of this situation.

After watching the video, I realized how important oil is to us. It is a necessity to
function the world and make this world sustainable to us. We are all aware how important oil
is to us. It is the blood of industrialization. Its products underpin modern society, mainly
supplying energy to power industry, heat homes and provide fuel for vehicles and
aeroplanes to carry goods and people all over the world. Oil can be found in everything.
From the food we eat, from the products that we own, from the fabrics and essential
buildings that we need to in our everyday living to transportation and all. Seeing the possible
outcomes of this situation makes me feel afraid and nervous. What if we are running out of
oil? How can the world function? If this happens, it will affect our lives. If oil disappeared
tomorrow, it would have global consequences for transport. Without oil, aviation, shipping
and road haulage would cease. Global trade would face major difficulties as a result. The
sudden absence of oil is also certain to present big problems for food production, vehicles
can no longer function, the flow of products to shops would stop without oil, the
unemployment rate will increase, heating purposes, a sudden loss of oil supplies would
make it impossible to meet world energy needs and many more.

For these to prevent, we need to make sure that our resources are still sufficient. We
should start conserving and making every single one of it important. If this happens
everything will be affected. From our basic needs to the other essential needs so that we can
survive and live. We should not take everything for granted, instead learn how to save and
be thrifty. We should start thinking about our future too. We should not just live in the
moment, instead we should start thinking on how to make our world and resources
sustainable in the future.
