Variable Message Signs Limited (VMS Ltd) is the UK's
market leader in variable message signs and driver information
systems. To meet the ever changing needs of the traffic
authorities and to fulfil the expectations of motorists, VMS Ltd
have developed an AMI or advanced motorway indicator.

What is unique about this sign is the optical feedback that

is sent back to the control centre for speed enforcement.

This optical feedback provides the means for the traffic authority to know at
any moment in time, what symbol is displayed on the sign and if required,
use this information in a court of law for prosecution. This new technology
overcomes the problems of bulb changing associated with the halogen type
fibre signs as well as offering a more flexible type of display.

comprising cantilevers, gantries and roadside posts.
