Inquiry Based Unit (30 points)

Come up with a plan for an inquiry -based unit. Your unit should include
at least three readings of a variety of genres. Video can be used in place
of one of the readings. Complete the following charts with as much
detail as possible about your unit. Sample units will be provided.

Topic of the Unit: Iden ty

Essen al Ques on: How can you learn more about yourself
and others through reading & writing?

Iden fy a Final Project(s): Have students write poems inspired by

an old family photograph or any old
photo or even artwork they nd inspiring
or identify with. Students can bring in
one or several photographs that they
nd inspiring and interesting. Help
students brainstorm by asking them to
write down words that describe the
photograph as well as having them think
about how the picture makes them feel.
Students can then write sentimental
poems or humorous ones based on
these images. Students could also
complete this assignment after taking
their own photograph. The students can
read their poems and the poetry with
photos or artwork can be displayed for
others to see in the school.
