Narrative Report

In accordance to DepEd Order No. 63, s. 2012 – Guidelines on the Preparation of Gender

and Development (GAD) Utilization of GAD Budgets and Submission of Accomplishments

Reports.

The main goal of the webinar was to inform the teachers and parents about gender related

issues and concern of young children in school. They were informed about the historical roots

and growth of Gender and Development. Aside from that, the

discussion also focused on the Legal Mandates and Basis of GAD. Various examples were given

to illustrate the gender differences, inequality, equality, biases and prejudices; be it in school or

real-life setting. Another topic during the discussion were gender awareness and sensitivity. The

teachers and parents were also accustomed on how to acknowledge gender differences and

promote gender sensitivity in school setting. The Gender and Development Plan of the School

was also talked about. Plans, programs and activity of the school, as well as the appropriate

expenditure of GAD Budget were also emphasized.
