1.Introduction to cloud vendors: Amazon , Microsoft , IBM.

An organization that sells computing infrastructure, software as a service (SaaS) or storage.

 Amazon

Maybe the best #2 competitor in any category, Amazon and its AWS cloud unit have become one of the
world’s most innovative and influential tech companies. The undisputed category king in the cloud,
Amazon has become a global phenomenon in the tech world and has made itself a highly trusted and
valued partner to developers and the broader category of what it calls “builders.” In addition.

 Microsoft
At the top of this list of five superb cloud vendors—and also atop my broader list of the Cloud Wars Top
10 rankings—is Microsoft, which is likely to top $32 billion in cloud revenue for calendar 2018 (it will
announce quarterly earnings within the next 2 or 3 weeks). And here’s why I feel so strongly that it
is Microsoft and not Amazon that rules the roost in the cloud.

 IBM
When IBM reports Q4 and full-year numbers on Thursday of this week, there’s a good chance its cloud
revenue for the full year will come in at about $20 billion  and make up almost a quarter of the
company’s total revenue. IBM’s approach to the cloud is quite different than those of its competitors at
the top of the cloud world, and it’s making some moves to further differentiate the value it generates
for customers in 2019.

2.Setting up Virtualization using Virtual box /VM Ware Hypervisor.

The New Virtual Machine Wizard guides you through the key steps for setting up a new virtual machine,
helping you set various options and parameters. You can then use the virtual machine settings editor
(VM > Settings) if you need to make any changes to your virtual machine's setup.

Start VMware Workstation.

Windows hosts: Double-click the VMware Workstation icon on your desktop or use the Start menu
(Start > Programs > VMware > VMware Workstation).

Linux hosts: In a terminal window, enter the command.

If this is the first time you have launched VMware Workstation and you did not enter the

serial number when you installed the product (an option available on a Windows host), you

are prompted to enter it. The serial number is on the registration card in your package or in

the email message confirming your electronic distribution order. Enter your serial number

and click OK.
The serial number you enter is saved and VMware Workstation does not ask you for it again. For your
convenience, VMware Workstation automatically sends the serial number to the VMware Web site
when you use certain Web links built into the product (for example, Help > VMware on the
Web > Register Now! and Help > VMware on the Web > Request Support). This allows us to direct you
to the correct Web page to register and get support for your product.

Start the New Virtual Machine Wizard.

When you start VMware Workstation, you can open an existing virtual machine or create a new one.
Choose File > New > Virtual Machine to begin creating your virtual machine.

The New Virtual Machine Wizard presents you with a series of screens that you navigate using the Next
and Prev buttons at the bottom of each screen. At each screen, follow the instructions, then
click Next to proceed to the next screen.

Select the method you want to use for configuring your virtual machine.

If you selected Typical as your configuration path, skip to step 7.

Select a guest operating system.

Select a name and folder for the virtual machine.

If you selected Typical as your configuration path, skip to step 10.

Configure the networking capabilities of the virtual machine.

If you selected Typical as your configuration path, click Finish and the wizard sets up the files needed for
your virtual machine.

If you selected Custom as your configuration path, continue with the steps below to configure a disk for
your virtual machine.

Select the type of SCSI adapter you want to use with the virtual machine.

Select the disk you want to use with the virtual machine.

Select whether to create an IDE or SCSI disk.

Specify the capacity of the virtual disk.

Specify the location of the virtual disk's files.

Click Finish.

The wizard sets up the files needed for your virtual machine.

3.Introduction to own cloud.

Own Cloud is a suite of client–server software for creating and using file hosting services. Own
Cloud functionally has similarities to the widely used Dropbox. The primary functional difference
between own Cloud and Dropbox is that own Cloud is primarily server software.

(The company's own Cloud online is a hosted service.) The Server Edition of own Cloud is free and
open-source, thereby allowing anyone to install and operate it without charge on their own private
server.
4.Installation and configuration of own cloud software for SaaS.

Run your own cloud server with own Cloud

In this tutorial, we would like to show you how to install own Cloud on Ubuntu 16.04. Own Cloud is a file
management software that allows you to centrally save and store files such as Pictures, videos, or other
files. Own Cloud is an open-source software and therefore a good alternative to SaaS vendors such as
Dropbox or Google Drive. You can determine where your data is to be stored and so on. Choose a cloud
server provider that meets your privacy requirements.

Server preparations:

As a basis for this tutorial you will need the following:

1. A server with root access.

You need an Ubuntu 16.04 server with full root access. Create a cloud at my.gridscale.io in just a few
steps.

2. LAMP-Stack
Since ownCloud is based on PHP and MySQL, you should install a LAMP stack on your server.

5.Accessing Microsoft AZURE cloud -services.

At its core, Azure is a public cloud computing platform—with solutions including Infrastructure as a

Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) that can be used for
services such as analytics, virtual computing, storage, networking, and much more. It can be used to
replace or supplement your on-premise servers.

6.Cloud simulation Software Introduction: cloud Sim.

Cloud Computing  is one of the hottest topics in town. It has completely transformed how modern-day
applications are developed and maintained with high scalability and low latency.

CloudSim is an open-source framework, which is used to simulate cloud computing infrastructure and
services. It is developed by the CLOUDS Lab organization and is written entirely in Java. It is used for
modelling and simulating a cloud computing environment as a means for evaluating a hypothesis prior
to software development in order to reproduce tests and results.
