Course Overview
Overview:
The pandemic has left an indelible mark in the lives of many Filipinos. It may be the lost of
a loved one, lost of jobs and a lost of self-esteem. Women play a significant role both as a
care-taker of a sick family member or an emotional support for her working partner. Not to
mention the daily toils of household work that pile up as additional burden to women who
sometimes neglect their emotional, socio-physical, financial and psychological needs.
A person cannot take care of another if one is lacking, thus it is very important to also give
to oneself. A positive self-image and grit will enable one to stand to his or her task in
battling the challenges of the pandemic.
Course Goal:
To enable participants to gain appreciation and understanding on how to care for oneself and
develop regular self-care practices.
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
1. define the truths and myths about self-care;
2. understand that self-care and self-love is not being selfish;
3. enumerate doable self-care practices to do during this pandemic;
4. share self-care practices and how it helped improve once well-being; and
5. develop a plan of action on self-care practices
