I.Relative pronouns
1.Who:chỉ người
- I don’t like people who tell jokes all the time.
- The girl who is giving speech is my sister.
-The man who my mother is talking to is my teacher
2.Which: chỉ vật(formal)
-There are several restaurant which serve Japanese food
-this is the movie which I watch the most
3.That :chỉ người và vật
-Jack is the man that/who plays the guitar very well
-the shop that/which sells very expensive clothes is on the corner.
- That dùng sau các đại từ : everything, all,much,more,so sánh tuyệt đối
-She is the nicest woman that I’ve ever met.
4.Whom:chỉ người khi người đó là tân ngữ trong mệnh đề quan hệ
-I know the girl whom my brother is talking to.
Or
-I know the girl to whom my brother is talking
Whom có thể được thay thế bằng who
-I know the girl who my brother is talking to
-nếu trong mệnh đề quan hệ có giới từ thì giới từ có thể đặt trước hoặc sau mệnh đề quan hệ(chỉ
áp dụng với whom và which)
5.Whose:chỉ sở hữu , dung cho người ,động vật, sự vật
-Yesterday I met a woman whose son is a famous singer
-I like working for a company hose staff are friendly.
