On the Internet use in class

'What is the new kahoot number?' It has been a commonplace that many students use the
Internet in class. Students use the Internet in class to hand in their homework or have
conversations with their classmates. Despite bringing convenience, the Internet use in class
has been controversial. People do not support the internet use in class, for they believe the
traditional models are good enough for students. However, many people do support the
internet use in class for three advantages: access tomuch information, increase of interaction
and increase of class efficiency.

First of all, one advantage of using the Internet in class is access to much information.
Despite a great amount of misinformation on the Internet, students can still get much correct
information via the Internet. If students can get information via the Internet, they do not have
to be confined. Instead, students can get information that textbooks do not refer to, thus
enhancing their knowledge. Additionally, teachers can supervise students if they can check
the correctness of information. Also, students can learn how to refuse misinformation. To
sum up, students can get much information and enhance their abilities to check information
via the Internet use in class.

Second, another advantage of the Internet use in class is increase of interaction in class.
Although many people are acquainted with face-to-face conversations, conversations on the
Internet can increase interaction. Not all students are brave enough to ask questions in front
of their classmates. Many websites on the Internet provide great methods for shy students to
express their opinions and ask questions. Most importantly, the Internet is anonymous, which
fits shy students. In conclusion, more students can fit in class via the Internet use, thus
increasing interaction in class.

Last, using the Internet in class is beneficial to increase class efficiency. Nowadays, teachers
tend to distribute hard copy. However, distributing and transferring documents do cost
students and teachers much time. If teachers and students can take advantage of the Internet
and transferring tools, such as airdrop or email, they do not have to spend time distributing
papers. Furthermore, electronic documents are environmentally friendly. To sum up, using the
Internet in class not only increases class efficiency but also supports environmental
protection.

In conclusion, the Internet use in class is beneficial to the three dimensions: access to much
information, increase of interaction in class, increase of class efficiency. Students do not need
to memorize much knowledge but get a great amount of information. Also, students can
learn how to distinguish misinformation. Besides, the Internet use in class provides
opportunities for shy students to express themselves. On top of that, using the Internet in
class increases efficiency and supports environmental protection. As a result, the Internet use
is beneficial to students, teachers and the environment. It is advisable to use the Internet in
class.
