SUBJECT:
Pressure Release Plate Set for E009-0000, E009-0002 and Thumping Sound at the Fixing Assembly

GENERAL:
This Technical Publication details measures to prevent E009 error codes and a thumping sound at the fixing
assembly.

DETAILS:
At times, a fixing assembly may exhibit an E009-0000 or E009-0002. The details are as follows:
 E009-0000 – Occurs when the Fixing Drive Plate and the Pressure Release Plate have not been
replaced with the updated parts. These parts have an additional securing screw for the fixing
assembly which is necessary in minimizing E009-0000.
 E009-0002 – Occurs when there is excess grease contaminating the gears in either the Fixing
Assembly and/or the Fixing Drive Assembly. In addition, the Pressure Release Stopper and 46T
gear have been changed to minimize the E009-0002 occurrences.

A Pressure Release Plate Set (FM1-H415-000) has been created to combat the E009-0000 and E009-0002
occurrences. The kit consists of the following:

E Ring

Two (2) specific part changes that are contained in the kit are:
1. The Pressure Release Plate [1] has a sponge [A] added to increase the break pressure.
2. The 46T gear [2] shape [B] was changed to enhance the breaking force.

CAUTION!


The cleaning procedures, the Fixing Drive Plate and all parts contained in the Pressure
! Release Plate Set (FM1-H415-000) must be replaced at the same time. If any of the
parts are not replaced or the cleaning procedures are not followed, E009 error codes will
continue to be generated by the machine resulting in customer dissatisfaction.
