Instructions for Replacing the Engage/Disengage


Gears in the External Heat Roller Assembly
Steps to replace the engage/disengage gears in the external heat roller assembly

Prepare the following items before starting the 4) Remove the connectors from the PCB. (24

- FL3-7951-000 1pc. (20T/42T Gear)
- FL3-7952-000 1pc. (18T/45T Gear)
- FL3-7953-000 1pc. (15T/36T Gear)
- FU7-0828-010 1pc. (40T Gear)
- FY9-6026-000 (Lube, Molykote G-8022 Grease)

1) Remove the rear left cover. (12 screws (loosen),


3 screws (remove) )

5) Remove the fixing main driver PCB. (6 screws)

2) Remove the rear right cover. (6 screws)

6) Remove Ground wire. (1 screw)


7) Disconnect all connectors on the PCB. (4
connectors)
8) Remove Developing high-voltage PCB. (6 claws
[1])

3) Remove the rear lower cover. (7 screws)

9) Remove the feeder assembly exhaust duct [1]. 9-3) Remove the waste toner TCL pipe. (1 screw
[1])
9-4) Remove the feeder assembly exhaust duct.
(2 screws [1])

9-1) Remove the ITB post duct. (1 screw [1])

9-2) Remove the 4 fans duct. (harness [1], 2


screws [2])

10) Remove the harness and the tie-wraps.


12) Remove the fixing drive assembly. (4
connectors [1], 6 screws [2])

11) Remove the exhaust fan duct. (2 screws [1])

13) Remove the PCB support plate from the fixing


drive assembly. (3 screws [1])

Steps to replace the engage/disengage gears in the external heat roller assembly

14) Remove 5 gears. (1 bearing [1], 4 E-rings [2],


1 dowel pin [3], 2 washers [4])

15) Replace 4 gears with the new type gears. Then,


reverse the steps to place the parts back. (Be
sure to apply the grease of about three grains
of rice to the tooth surfaces of each gear.)
