GENERAL:
This Technical Publication describes a cleaning process that will help minimize a thumping noise and E240-
0004 error codes.

Cams

At the factory, too much grease was


applied to the gears shown, which caused
the grease to migrate to the cams, and
brake assembly (brake assembly is not in
the picture, see next page).

SERVICING PROCEDURE:
Please see attached PDF, “Cleaning Procedure,” which provides steps to clean the gears and cams
mentioned.

If the Cleaning Procedure does not remedy this issue, please follow the procedure below:

To further prevent the Pressure Cam from over traveling, slightly add additional pressure to the leaf spring
as shown below. Install the Brake Assembly on the Fixing Assembly and test the device.

Place downward
pressure on the leaf
spring if needed.
