Assignment-4, Projections of Solids-1

Answer all questions

1. A pentagonal prism side of base 30 mm and height 75 mm is kept in such a way that a
rectangular face is parallel to and 10 mm away from VP and axis is perpendicular to HP
with one end of the solid in 10 mm away from HP. Draw the projections.

2. A pentagonal prism with side of base 30 mm and height 70 mm is resting on HP on one

of its rectangular faces. Draw the projections if a longer edge is parallel to and 20 mm
away from VP.

3. Draw the projections of a hexagonal prism side of base 30 mm and height 80 mm, which
rests on HP with a rectangular face. Draw the projections if the axis is inclined 30o to VP.

4. A cylinder of diameter 60 mm and length 75 mm is resting on VP with a point on the

circumference if its base. Draw the projections if the axis is parallel to HP and inclined
40o to VP.

5. Draw the projections of a cone, base diameter 50 mm and height 75 mm, which is resting
on the VP with a generator. Draw the projections if the axis is parallel to HP.

6. Draw the projections of a hexagonal pyramid side of base 25 mm and height 75 mm,
which rests on the HP with a triangular face. The axis of the solid is parallel to VP.

7. A pentagonal pyramid side of base 25 mm and height 70 mm is freely suspended from

one of the corners of the base. Draw the projections if the axis is parallel to VP.

8. Draw the projections of a square pyramid, side of base 35 mm and height 75 mm, which
rests in such a way that all edges of the base are equally inclined to the HP and the axis is
parallel to and 50 mm away from both the HP and VP.

9. A tetrahedron of side 60 mm is resting on VP with a side. Draw the projections if a face

containing the edge on the VP is perpendicular to both HP and VP.

10. An octahedron of side 40 mm is resting on HP with one of its faces. Draw the projections
if the axis is parallel to VP.
