Abstract Rules

1. Individuals can author multiple abstracts, but individuals may present only one
abstract.
2. There is only one category of presentation: E-poster; and two levels of participant:
(1) General Practitioner, Researcher, or Graduate student; (2) Undergraduate student.
3. Three types of abstracts/articles include : (1) Original Research Articles; (2) Case
Reports/Clinical Cases; (3) Reviews.
4. Previously published abstracts (in print or any electronic format) or those presented at
another meeting are not allowed.
5. Abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission site. Faxes,
photocopies or emailed copies will not be reviewed.
6. Make sure there are no conflict of interest before putting all author names on the
abstract.
7. There will not be an option for Late-Breaking News Abstracts.
8. There will not be an abstract replacement period.
9. Abstracts are reviewed as submitted by the abstract deadline of 13 th June, 2021, 11:59
p.m.
10. Presenters are not permitted to modify their abstracts after this date for purposes of
review.
11. There are competitions or awards that will be announced later.

Abstract Guidelines

Acceptable paper on 6th JSMiD consists of three types of articles: (1) Original
Research Articles; (2) Case Reports/Clinical Cases; (3) Reviews. An original research
articles is a report on the research objectives and analytical process, as well as a discussion
of the implications of the results of a study. Case reports or clinical cases submitted should
make a contribution to dentistry knowledge and must have educational value or highlight the
need for a change in clinical practice or diagnostic/prognostic approaches. Review Articles
written by an expert, providing critical analysis and recent information on a given specialty.

Abstract

1. The abstract should be an informative synopsis/summary of your manuscript.


2. All abstracts for original research articles should follow the structured format; with
the heading of Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion. The word count should
not exceed 250 words.
3. Abstract for Case reports or clinical cases and Review Articles should follow the
unstructured format. No need to divide the abstract into different sections. The word
count should not exceed 150 words.
4. Save the file in doc. or docx and pdf. format with the naming: Abstract_EP_[Levels
of participant: 1/2]_[Article types: ORA/CR/RA]_Presenter

5. Please download the abstract template and follow the format carefully.

Keywords
1. Below the abstract, provide a maximum of 5 keywords that will assist in the cross-
indexing of the article.
2. Check and confirm that the keywords are the most relevant terms found in the title or
the abstract, should be listed in the medical subject headings (MeSH) list of Index
Medicus found in http://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html.

ABSTRACT

Your paper will be part of the conference proceedings therefore we ask that authors follow the
guidelines explained in this example. Be advised that papers in a technically unsuitable form will be returned for
retyping. After returned the manuscript must be appropriately modified. All abstracts for original research
articles should follow the structured format; with the heading of Introduction, Methods, Results and Conclusion.
The word count should not exceed 250 words. Abstract for Case reports or clinical cases and Review Articles
