Health is wealth. Health involves not only physical but mental, emotional and social health.

Human body
can’t function properly without proper diet and literally can’t be productive in all aspects of life. Healthy
students are more engaged, alert, and better, able to concentrate and learn; setting students up for
success in the classroom and beyond.
July was set to celebrate Nutrition Month in our country. It is done yearly by third or fourth week of the
said month. Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines in
celebration of the 2021 Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan,
First 1000 Days Tutukan!” The 2021 Nutrition Month theme calls for continued efforts to address
malnutrition in the country which is expected to worsen as a result of the pandemic and limited
resources for nutrition. It calls for all sectors to focus efforts on the First 1000 Days of life as the strategic
intervention to prevent stunting and obesity. (nnc.gov.ph) We should also practice healthy diet, eat right
foods such as grow, glow, go and engage in regular physical activity, highlighting the importance of
healthy diet and regular physical exercise to achieve good health, reduce, to reduce overweight, obesity
and non- communicable diseases.

As support on this celebration, Bilaran National High School headed by the principal, Mrs. Marilyn B.
Peňaflor, together with the T.L.E department head, Mr. Magtanggol S. Panaligan and their supportive
teachers and students joined the campaign by updating their Facebook profile using the Nutrition
Month Fb frame. Use of Facebook frame raises awareness on nutrition month’s campaign addressing
stunting and obesity to all of the students and other stakeholders on social media.
