the global student population in mid-April 2020, but that number has since dropped to nearly
67 percent in June 2020. COVI-19 has affected more than 120 crores of students and youths

all school, college, and university examinations, including entrance exams, were postponed
indefinitely. As a result, the lockdown obliterated any student's schedule. Many educational
establishments have been forced to postpone courses, examinations, internships, and other
activities due to the lockdown, opting instead for online delivery. COVID presented
educational institutions with many obstacles and opportunities to improve their IT
infrastructure. The lockdown has brought teachers and students a ray of hope that they will
resume their educational activities online. Teachers distributed assignments to students via
the internet and delivered lectures via video conferencing using apps such as Zoom, Google
Meet, Facebook, YouTube, and Skype, among others. The situation in India is that not every
student has access to high-speed internet and digital devices, and as a result, they suffer.

B-schools start their first-year classes in June. For the time being, the planned deferment is
one month, but they are keeping all options open. Some institutions are considering
beginning classes online in order to keep the length of the academic session as short as
possible. Due to the delay in the start of programmes, the duration of the summer internship
will be reduced.

Coronavirus: Delay in completion of semester

With the cancellation of classes, MBA students are concerned about how they can complete
their curriculum and if the delay in the semester's completion will further delay the course's
completion. The Indian School of Business (ISB) has already announced that classes will be
held online before the campus reopens, and most MBA institutes have begun offering online
classes and remotely proctored semester exams. Unless the government declares the
reopening of educational institutions, everybody is in a 'wait and see' scenario.
