“It is the first time I attend a seminar on an electoral topic and

I am very pleased with the good organization and conduct of
this seminar. I acquired knowledge in the electoral field. I was
offered a training using modern interactive educational
technologies. I was acquainted with the Regulation on the
Activity of the PEB and what are the competences of the PEB
member in working with voter lists, how the preparations prior
to the Election Day are carried out, etc.
Personally, following this seminar, I will try to
contribute to ensuring an environment that enables correct
organization of elections in my settlement,” said Cristina
Boldisor, Bolohan village, Orhei rayon.
“During this seminar, I acquired new information
and new experience. All participants were provided with
teaching materials required to conduct the seminar, and the
trainers were nice and explicit. All acquired information was
explicit and interesting. During this seminar, I was informed
about the correct procedure related to organization of elections
in electoral bureaus and we analysed unforeseen situations
that can come up on Election Day, and including how they
could be solved in an intelligent way.
I am glad about the fact that efficient work is
carried out in view of a correct election organization process. I
would like to thank you for the time provided to enrich our
knowledge in the electoral field,” said Ana Pinzari, Bolohan
village, Orhei rayon.
“I am satisfied with the information received
during this seminar. The trainers communicated clearly,
explicitly, interestingly and with concrete example. I only knew
general information about elections, but today I learned more,
namely good organization and conduct of elections in detail. We
outlined also the arrangement of a polling station and the open
routing taken by a voter. I thank you for the provided
information,” said Tatiana Ciobanu, Bolohan village, Orhei
rayon.
"Excellent workshop – very upbeat and held the attention of all
delegates throughout. I personally learnt a lot, even though I’ve
been in the industry for some years. The whole team learnt
some very useful tools for the future that can be used in both
business and life to increase their success”
“This was an excellent course that was motivational and
inspiring. It was good to see different approaches and new
ways to train and has given me lots of new ideas and skills to
take back to the training room. Good to be a delegate for a
change!”
“Thank you so much for the time spent with us in Birmingham
so far. I am overwhelmed with the opportunities you have given
us and couldn’t be happier with the team’s engagement! I am
really optimistic about how different we can be in the future and
wish we could press the fast forward button now for all teams to
be affected by the FIT team! I know you guys are getting paid
but it doesn’t stop me saying how I appreciate what you are
doing and the massive support it gives me…..so pleased you
guys were brought in!”
“It fulfilled my expectations and more! The event was thought-
provoking, interactive and created a safe environment for
honesty amongst the Management community”
“I learnt so much that was relevant and fun and can honestly
say that 100% of the workshop was useful and interesting.
Marie is a true asset to the company. We love her training style
and I can really see my guys engaging with the training. Doing
the FIT Healthcheck & DNA event first is great, because it
ensures the training is relevant and tailored to us and had live
examples throughout. Thank you Marie!”
“Excellent – great content and delivery. Many new ideas, tips
and techniques to ensure we provide a Positive Memorable
Experience”
“Your passion and expertise shone through! Very engaging and
involved everybody very well”
“Everything was taught for a reason – to better ourselves!
Knowledgeable, interesting, delivered at a good pace, enjoyable
and fun. Loved it – and long may the training continue to be part
of my life!”
It was my pleasure to meet you and to be part of this great
learning and practicing experience, which gave me so much
courage, hope, insights, learnings, joy and space at the same
time.
Thru it, I found some of great next steps of being better leader
in my life and work.
It was simply amazing also to see the process it self, where
seniority is so supportive, nonviolently and gently hosting
younger team members and at the same way so strongly
holding the space for them and for all other attendees. Amazing
organization/community, where all fits so unobtrusive, but so
organize at the same time-a wish we could apply this way in
our (business) organizations.
It was a stop on my way, which has not ended.
I feel inspired and encouraged, by the connections I experienced
the last three days in a learning community. A community in
which souls choose to explore, choose to learn, choose to help,
choose to teach, choose to support, choose to step forward,
choose to speaking up with courage and give voice to their call.
Initiators and contributors, both needed and both valued.
Joining inner fire and carrying out, with great certainty, that
even a little contribution, can be of large influence.

In the last three days, many fires increased their heat and I feel
grateful for sensing the power of it. I long to keep my fire
burning, hoping it will meet up with others and co-create the
change we want to see in the world.
For initiating this empowering learning opportunity and offering
a place to connect from heart to heart, I like to say THANK YOU

Having attended this three-day seminar on Teacher Induction Program
fromMay 30- June 1, 2011, I would like to
share some of my impressions of thisseminar.First, the seminar was
very well organized in terms of structure, timeframesand contents. From
the start to the end, it went smoothly. The daily programsproceeded as
planned in the schedule. The length of the seminar was just right--
neither too short, nor too long. Most of its contents were precisely
relevant to thetopic of the seminar.Second, all seminar moderators were
tolerant, active and creative. All of them were flexible with time-setting
concerning working group activities. They weremuch involved in
monitoring group work activities. Moreover, they taught us how to
be a facilitator for a group discussion byasking some volunteers to
moderate some discussion sessions during the seminar. They offered
helpful assistance to the participants.Third, I was impressed by the way
group members understood and toleratedeach other during working
group activities. We usually nominated a group leader, apresenter and a
time keeper. We listened to each other and followed the orders of the
leader and time keeper. During the group discussions, all the group
membershad an equal opportunity to express their thoughts and
opinions. I appreciated thegroup activities very much.Fourth, the
accommodation in was excellent. The environment of the locationwas
pleasant, smoke-free, clean and relatively quiet. The weather was nice
andthere were no distractions. Although we had to share the facilities, all
participantsfelt comfortable with one another. The room was quite small
but well-equipped andregularly cleaned. It was indeed very successful
and significant in the fulfillment of our goals.
Everyone enjoyed the job for it widened every teacher’s knowledge and
horizons.

To our beloved Schools Division Superintend, Sir Jessie D.
Ferrer, CESO V, to the esteemed guests in our midst, to my
fellow Poblanistas and to my dearly beloved fellow teachers, a
pleasant afternoon to all of you.
When Dr. Roberto Pantig, one of my best professors in PEC told
me that I will deliver to you my impression about our training, I am
quite hesitant because I feel that I am not worthy to do so because
there are teachers who are more qualified than yours truly. But, as we
all know, teachers must be ready for everything, and here I am now.
Let me start with an adage:“A Good Teacher is like a candle—it
consumes itself to light the way of others.”
When the Government, through the Department of Education
finally put into realization the full implementation of the K-12
Curriculum, it opened a lot of doors to the academic world. It paved
away for the advent of a total reform in the Philippine Education
System. Such reform, although painful and difficult, is inevitable, in
such a way that we have to admit the fact that we are being left behind
not only of our neighbor countries, but the world, in particular.Right
now, the question is, are we capable of embracing such reformation? I
believe that the answer is yes. Is it easy to implement? No, but it is
doable.
I belong to the TVL Track, under the Industrial Arts. When the
Division Office hired us, we haven’t yet undergone any training. That’s
why, when I heard that there will be a Mass Training for the newly-
hired teachers, I have to admit that I’m quite excited. Tiring as it seem,
but optimism helped me to look at the brighter and bigger side of this
seminar.
On the first day of the training, the opening messages of our
superiors boosted our morale as teachers in the Senior High. It made
us feel that we are loved, precious and modern heroes because we
have to light the beacon of knowledge and wisdom for the sake of next
generation. After the edifying messages of our bosses, we have been
taught of the K-12 updates. Some of them were not new to me, but
there were still new updates that I still don’t know yet.
Cardinal Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, DD once said that: “An
institution without a vision commits treason.” I would say that he is
right when he said that. Because the Mission and Vision statements of
any institution would serve as a guiding star to fulfill its dreams and
aspirations. Having known the vision and mission statements of the
Department of Education, it made me realize how complex it is to
implement and realize its goals. That’s why I said to myself, as part of
the Department, I have to really work hard, not to please my superiors,
but because I know that by doing such, I can somehow, help to rebuild
this nation once again. The last part on that day’s seminar is about
understanding the SHS Learner, and this for me is quite important
since they are our clientele. Many things has been discussed. But one
thing caught my attention, it is the fact that the learners of today are
definitely and totally different from the students in the past. A lot of
new approaches, methods and techniques must be done to secure
their future.
On the second day of our training, exciting and challenging
topics were discussed to us by our facilitators. Such includes: K-12
Pedagogies. Contextualization, 21st Century Education and the
Walkthrough of the SHS Curriculum Guide. Such topics blew away the
clouds that covers the minds of most teachers in the SHS. By the
facilitation of the said topics, many questions were answered finally.
Such will definitely help and guide us to become better, if not best
teachers to our dearly beloved students. Such will also enforce and
equip us upon dealing and facing the many challenges and obstacles
along the way. The experiences that has been shared not only by the
facilitators, but my fellow teachers in our class, somehow opened and
awakened my mind. One thing is for sure: the new curriculum is
promising but it also entails a lot of hardships and sacrifices,
On the third day, the facilitators shared about how to prepare the
Instructional materials, lesson plans and the different ways to assess
each and every learner that we journey with. Such topics are
somehow, can be, considered as the backbone and foundation of
teaching. Without such, the teaching-learning process will be
impossible and tremendously difficult. That’s why, as teachers, we
have to bear painstakingly all the necessary and inevitable effects of
such in our own personal lives. The said topics somehow made me
think and decide that teaching is no joke and looking back is not even
an option. Realizing the consequences of my own philosophy about
teaching made my decision to be firm on dealing with the challenges
that such entails.
On the fourth day, the culmination of our seminar came to a
close—the demonstration teaching. It is every teacher’s most scary
yet exciting that he or she will experience. By doing such exercise, we
would hear from our fellow teachers about their views and comments
about what and how are we going to do in case we are in the
classroom, teaching our students. I believe that the praises and
commendations given tous will serve as the fruits for the toils and
hardships that we teachers faced during the preparation and
execution of our plans with regard to teaching. Criticisms must not be
taken personally, and destructively. Rather, it must be understood in
such a way that there is always a room for improvement. As Mr. Perez
said to us teachers, we must have the GHI—GENEROSITY,
HUMILITY and INTEGRITY. Such words are strong and concrete, but
helpful and meaningful.
As teachers, we have the mandate to teach, form and make new
leaders and members of our society. Whether we like it or not, we will
always leave a mark to our students. Ergo, we should be careful on
doing so because we can make or break the future our students and
our society as well. Until now, I always share to my students my
Philosophy in life and education: “We go to school not to simply learn
and have a good life, rather, we go to school for us to become better
persons.” As educators, we must always grab every opportunity along
the way. Carpe Diem!—Seize the day! This seminar made me realized
that I have to be optimistic rather than pessimistic. True, there are still
lots of problems, and lots of things to do, but what are we to do? As
educators, we are expected to become not only as teachers but
trouble shooters, inventors, innovators and creators on our own
special way.
Before I end my insights, I would like us teachers to recognize all
the Facilitators who shared their thoughts to us, Mrs. Candelario, Mr.
Punla, Mrs. Dominguez and Mrs. Renosa and all the men and women
of the Schools Division Office of Bataan as well as the staff of the
refectory and the drivers of the buses who made this seminar possible
and fruitful, please let us give them a warm round of applause.
After this program, we will leave this place, But I do hope that all
our learnings and experiences will not be left in this beautiful place,
rather, I have a firm and high spirits that what we acquired from this
training will be shared to our fellow teachers who are not here with us,
but most importantly to our students, who are the primordial and vital
reason why we became teachers. Please let us try to remember,
always… that “A Good Teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to
light the way of others.”Thank you very much and God bless us all!

I believe that the most important [phonological] skill is knowing

the letters and
being able to recall the sounds for the letters. This process
must be the basic
foundation for successful reading.
