Safety Consideration

Danger
- Wrong operation will cause people to die and terrible damages or great
property loss.
- Please make sure the power is turn off, when you open electric cabinet, or any
operation with power will be likely cause bodily damages.
- Please do not stand at the front of the machine, when it runs with the
material.
- Please do not touch the heater with hands when the heater is heating,

1. Purpose
SRL series mixer unit is mainly used for mixing, coloring, drying of polyethylene,
polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride and etc, drying before shaping of ABS,
polycarbonate and other engineering plastics; it is also used in mixing of phenolic
resin. Cooling mixer cool and mixer the blended material to avoid agglomeration,
then make the additive infiltrate plastic resin, which is used to exhaust the
remnants air in the blended material. This unit has the features of cooling fast
and cooling equably. This unit is steady-going, durable, easy-operated, and
compact. It can satisfy the plastic process, and it is a ideal equipment in the field
of plastic product.

3. Structure
This unit is made up of high-speed mixer ,cooling mixer (these two are made up
of driving, main body, pot cover, drive part, disappearing end bumper, material
unload door), foundation, electric cabinet and etc. The main body is welded by
the stainless steel, the interior surface is extremely hard and smooth, have such
characteristics as wear-resisting, corrosion-resistant, difficult sticking, etc. There
is asbestos heat preservation wrapped outside the main body. The cold drifts
along one pot of walls and cools and inserts one; reach the result of cooling
through cooling circulation.
The pot cover was cast by the aluminum alloy, the interior surface underwent
the finish machining and polishing, after it is jacked by air cylinder. There are
ventilate holes and holes on the cover, which are convenient for adding resin,
plasticizer and stabilizer into the mixer, you can arrange it according to your
requirements. The pot cover revolves easily and expediently; please do not
overexert the pot cover in the case of damaging the sealing bar. In order to avoid
body damage when the pot cover is opened, the electrical cabinet controls the
current turn off so that the motor will not work. This is the safe measure.
Hot mixing baffle is used for Strengthen the effect of mixing. There have each
temperature thermocouple in the heating and cooling machine. The temperature
of the material can be reflected by temperature-controlled form; Used in the
material appears automatic allying at the same time.
Stirring arm is urged by motor with the trigonometry. The motor is an
alternating-current motor; it can realize the low high speed by pushing low and
high-speed button.
But must notice: While wanting to run at a high speed, make the motor start at
a low speed first, and then change to a high speed. The main shaft is supported
and operated by 316, 314 bearings. The main shaft has three stirring arm. They
make the material on one hand move along one pot of walls along rotating
clockwise rotation, at the same time upper and lower circulation are rotated. With
effect of baffle, the mixing result is better. Because of material being high-speed
rotating, so the frictional heat between the materials, and the frictional heat
between material and leaf is very big, making the temperature of the material
rise rapidly, and making the resin easy to absorb the plasticizer. Stirring arm is
made of stainless steel, pass machine work, wear resisting corrosion-resistant.
Running part of cooling mixer is moderate by motor driving main shaft, let
stirring arm rotate, cool the hot thoughtlessly material to mix. The base was

welded by stencil plate, angle steel, channel, there were four pieces of jack-up
rings on both sides, it is extremely convenient to hoist, Is it regulate bolt to have,
adjustable transmission trigonometry bring elasticity, bottoms have eight
foundation bolt hole, what the apron can change the trigonometry and take and
the installing machine seat is regular to open and maintain.
Discharging part of material is made of aluminum alloy; it is equipped with
one and unloaded the material door pneumatically, linked sharply by the air
cylinder and material door first line type. It is reliable to compress tightly, the
sealing is good, and it is flexible to open. Use 0.39-0.49 MPa air compressor (by
user's apolegamy). Unload material way can warm to automatically control
material with pan have or with manual to control two way is it is it unload material
door open, close to control to come button.

4. Electric protection and control

Electrical cabinet is installed upright and separately from mixer. There are
material temperature indication, start and stop buttons of mixer, open and close
of unloading gate, off button, power indication, emergency stop button and etc
on operation panel.
QF1is the main switch of electrical cabinet, FR1 is the protection elements of
motor of hot mixer, QF3 is the protection elements of motor of cooling mixer,
QF01 is the protection elements of the control loop, it can protect the motor
overload and short-circuit.
1) Hot mixer motor:
When press “LOW SPEED START” button SB2, put through the point 5 and 6 in
start loop, if the pot cover is close, the motor starts slowly when KM1 is powered
on by AC contactor. If the pot cover is open, the motor can’t start as the loop is
interlock.
When the motor need to rotate at a high speed, press high speed rotate button
SB3. Cut the loop of low speed, KM1 loop loose power and releases, and put
through the control loop of high speed，make connector KM2, KM3 absorb，the
motor works at a high speed. Press SB1 if switch high speed to low speed, and
then press SB2 after 5 seconds, make motor switch smoothly; when press SB1,
motor will stop.
2) Control of material temperature and unloading gate:
Through the cutting of stirrer and material ,the friction between materials, the
temperature rises to the requirement (usually 105 ℃ --125 ℃ ),temperature

controller WK1 will show the actual temperature of material in mixer.

Temperature of material and unloading gate can be controlled automatically,
set SA2 knob in the automatic position, when the material temperature reach set
temperature, the middle relay KA2 get power, material unloading solenoid valve
YV2 got power, material unloading gate open, meanwhile, the hot mixer motor
stop, hot mixer motor transfer to low speed state after the time relay KT3
delay(general 3-6S), after material unloading, unloading gate will close after the
time relay KT1 delay, motor is in low speed, and wait material input, go to next
working cycle.
Unloading gate also can be controlled by manual, set SA2 in manual position,
when SA1 in start state, solenoid valve YV2 got power, unloading valve open,
when SA1 is in close state, solenoid valve YV2 loose power, and unloading valve
close.
3) Before material in hot mixer unload to cooling mixer, should start
cooling mixer motor M3 first, then wait motor run smoothly, and
finally material unload into cooling mixer.
4) Cool mixer motor:
When press SB8, AC contactor KM5 absorb, open connector KM5 close and
self-lock, motor run, and when press SB7, motor stop(caution: when pot cover of
cooling mixer is open, cooling motor cannot start).
5) Cool mixer temperature:
The material put in cooling mixer is high temperature material, and
temperature control WK2 will show the actual temperature of material.
6) Unloading gate of cool mixer:
a) Manual control: when rotating knob SA3 to manual state, make manual
unloading knob SA4 to its open state, and this time indicator light HL12
get power, KA8 get power, solenoid valve YV5 get power an gate open,
make SA4 unloading gate close, HL12, KA8, YV5 loose power, gate close.
When SA3 work, the manual knob SA4 cannot control the working state of
unloading gate.
b) Auto control: Rotate SA3 to auto state, open and close of unloading gate
is in automatic state. When material put into cooling mixer from hot mixer,
temperature control WK3 will exceed set temperature (usually 40℃-60℃),
and after cooling, mixing in cooling mixer, the material temperature will be
lower than set temperature, so then switch by temperature control,
middle replay KA7, KA8 get power, unloading solenoid valve YV5 get power,
unloading gate open, after time relay KA4 delay, KA7 loose power,

solenoid valve YV5 loose power, unloading valve close.

5. Installation and maintenance

1) Installation
Mixer and electric cabinet will be installed on the concrete floor or firm steel
frame. Adjust the plane place; fix it with eight anchor bolts.
Cooling mixer adopt cooling water through the container entresol. Electrical
wires and the air supply wires are covered with pipes. The install dimension and
the fixed bolt holes can consult the install ground plot.
2) Usage and maintenance
Check carefully the electrical supply、air supply whether they are the same as
the machine before running the machine. Installed every part completely, inspect
the circuit as the circuit diagram carefully, make sure the lubricant has been
added, and clear the pickling oil anyplace on the machine.
1) Adjust filter voltage regulator, make the air pressure at the range of
4-7bar.Start the machine when pressure exceed 4bar, turn on the cooling
water, and adjust the water runoff to make sure that water pressure not
exceed 1bar.
Excessive water will increase the pressure of the container entresol, so
keep water straightway in the entresol.
The water must be filtered, and the chloride content not exceeds 80mg/L.
2) Turn off the emergency stop button, and make the switch at the hand
motion place.
3) Loose the reinforce screw nut on the heat pot cover, turn on the “on/off”
button, and the heat pot cover can up and down flexibly.
4) Open the pot cover, inspect whether the screw nut which reinforce the
agitation fan is firm.
5) Turn on the button to start the heat mixing motor, inspect the motor
turning direction (the same as the arrow on the container wall), if
necessary, exchange the phase of motor’s electrical wire.
6) Don’t allow to open the pot cover when the mixer running.
When all above functions are normally, the mixer can run.
The heat mixing must start with low speed without load, and then run high
speed and without load. The turning direction of the heat mixing must be the
same as the sign on the container, run about 10min without load, and then
inspect the compressed air system.

Once the machine has been used, please clear the inner wall and stirring arm
if no use a short time; spread pickling oil on the machine if no use long time.
Requirement of all lubrication points:
Main shaft of the mixer: 4 sodium base grease (GB492-89) once a day
Make an overhaul once half a year, change obturator anyplace. Inspect the
circuit and the elements.
1) Lubricate the machine on schedule.
2) Clearing、maintaining、repairing: Act on power off.
48 hours: clear the outer equipment coarsely; open the heating mixer’s pot
cover; clear the inner wall and unload door; inspect the oil level of the air
elements; inspect the air pressure.
1500 hours: disassemble the agitation shaft and fan, clear the inner wall
and make sure not damage to the machine when installing and clearing.
3) Disposals to the long no use:
(1) Turn off the main power supply
(2) Turn off the air supply
(3) Turn off the cooling water
(4) Draw off the water in the container entresol
Install the heating mixer’s agitation fans in turn, and fix them with
hexagonal bolt.
6000 hours (a month):
Thermocouple: change if ruined
6000-12000 hours:
Disassemble the bearing only when it ruined badly (big noise, overheat),
change the ruined part, and lubricate it when installed.
Bearing of heating mixer:
Before disassemble the bearing, please loose the motor adjusting plate,
remove the V strap and agitation fans, and then loose the belt wheel. So we can
take off the below bearing, and the bearing upside can be taken off from the
casing by taking up the shaft.

6. Safety regulations
All junction boxes、electric apparatus、door of control panel cannot open only
when repairing. Before opening, must turn off the electricity and show a sign that
don’t turn on the power switch. After finishing repayment, all the doors of electric
panel is not allowed open.

1) Don’t start the machine when junction boxes、electric apparatus、door of

control panel are open.
2) Do not clear the stair and flat with lubricate oil and anything lubricious.
3) Turn on the power only after the clearing、maintaining、repairing etc have
been finished, and the work must be done by special technician .
4) Keep the edge of the container clear when close the heating mixer’s pot
covers.
5) The machine can’t start with load or frequently, heat mixing should start from
low speed to high speed, then feeding material, and do not stop when
unloading.
6) Disassemble the fastened handle and the connection when the pot cover goes
up, so as to protect ruining the pot cover.
7) There are many safeguards at main parts of the machine. Remove them
before clearing、maintaining、and repairing ,and install and adjust them after
for ensure the safety of production.
