School Best Practices

Real change takes place in deep crisis, but the way it is, never changed the motto of Midsalip
National High School, “NO to Mediocrity, YES to Excellence”.

With the sudden shift of our educational system brought by this COVID 19 Pandemic, Midsalip
National High School has maintained its post in offering and sustaining quality education.
Though, this situation presents a unique challenge among teachers and school leaders’
decision-making process, the institution continued to observe all the best practices in promoting
quality flexible learning.

Together, the MNHS faculty and staff are working hand-in-hand in fulfilling the DEPED Mission,
Vision and Core Values.

Here are the best practices of the school to produce quality learners and make the institution a
safe and conducive learning place in this time of pandemic:

1. CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM AMONG TEACHERS


Teachers participated in training activities to improve readiness in the implementation of
and management of Learning Delivery Modalities. Also, the teachers attended the
physical and psychological preparedness webinar.

2. CONDUCT OF PARENTS ORIENTATION ON THE LEARNING DELIVERY


MODALITIES
Parents were accommodated for the orientation of LDM by Grade Level with a given
scheduled date and time. They also observed the simulation of the how modules will be
distributed and retrieved.

3. STRONG LINKAGE TO STAKEHOLDERS


As shown in the unselfish support of the stakeholders specially Barangay Officials, the
institution maintained a strong linkage through untiring and valuable assistance among
them.

4. PRE-IMPLEMENTATION OF DISTANT LEARNING


Rooms and school surroundings were prepared adhering to the mandates given by the
IATF’s Health Protocols. Additional hand washing facilities were also constructed. Health
protocol signages were posted and provisions of health-related equipment and supplies
were made possible.

5. DISTANCE LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION STAGE


5.1 Maintained the health safety protocols during distribution and retrieval of modules
such as temperature check, wearing of facemask and face shield and hand
sanitation
5.2 Heightened attendance checking with time log-In for possible contact tracing
5.3 Provisions of free envelopes, pens and pads of papers were also made possible for
the students
5.4 Provisions of reams of bond papers, inks, facemasks, face shields, alcohols,
vitamins, staplers, clips, etc were also given to the teachers
5.5 Ensured that reproduction of SLM will not be a problem, available bond papers, inks
and other printing equipment were purchased by the school and were equally
distributed to the different learning area departments
5.6 Conducted monitoring and home visitations
5.7 Created group chat for parents and students for easy communication access,
inquiries and follow-ups
5.8 Conducted weekly faculty and staff virtual conference for discussion of school issues
and concerns

6. WORK SAFETY PROGRAMS


6.1 To ensure safety from being infected from the virus through handling of papers from
one person to another and experience easy access of reports, teachers submitted
required reports such as WHLP, IWP, IMLP, WMR, Summative Test, Test Questions
and others school documents and forms to the School Drive
6.2 Observed QR codes for teacher attendance checking instead of Biometrics
