Paragraph 1

Topic Sentence/Claim: The need for professors and instructors to introduce updated
versions of Shakespearean works in their teaching modes has become more pressing in
contemporary times.

This is because many students struggle to identify with Shakspearian texts in their original
format. When Shakespearean plays are set in the 17th Century, using traditional, era-dependent
costume, scenery, and music, many college and undergraduate students find it difficult to relate
to the topics of the play, and, generally, fail to recognize how they can apply the morals raised to
their own experiences as young adults in the 21st Century. Hansbury, for illustration, contends
that, notwithstanding traditionalists' objections, “Romeo and Juliet” placed in 1950s New York,
or “Twelfth Night” transplanted into a contemporary high school setting refreshes and
universalizes their topical content, meaning young adults are more receptive to their messaging
(Hansbury, 2014). Students, it seems, are reminded of the relevancy of these timeless, classic
tales, even eras since their original imagining. Professors should explore incorporating new
versions of Shakespeare's works into their teaching procedures in order to rekindle student
interest in Shakespearean literature.
Paragraph 2

Topic Sentence/Claim: Houseplants bear significant solutions to enhanced levels of healthy

living conditions in the home.

This is because there are outstanding health benefits to owning houseplants. These health
benefits include the release of water vapor to increase air humidity levels, the removal of C02 to
improve energy and quality of sleep, and the extraction of air pollutants produced by common
household items. Furthermore, houseplants contribute to our well-being, making us feel calm,
less stressed, and even optimistic (Samson, 2017). Houseplants significantly improve overall
physical and emotional wellbeing by improving air quality, especially in drying situations,
reviving oxygen to raise brain activity, and reducing hazardous air contaminants. Thus, a simple,
readily attainable solution to increased health and optimism is filling the home with plants.
Paragraph 3

Topic Sentence/Claim: The discovery of the health and environmental implications that arise
from the continued production and consumption of animal products has caused many to
resort to consuming plant-based items.

This is because, although the animal rights movement remains central to the vegetarian and
vegan community, much motivation stems from evidence unfolding as to the positive
environmental outcomes of axing animal products from the human diet. This is illuminated
particularly in the way that plant-rich diets reduce energy consumption, preserve the biodiversity
of species and their habitats, and promote the conservation of water. For instance, Singh
articulates that, while a single soy burger has a water footprint of 158 liters, a beef burger, by
contrast, has a water footprint of 2350 liters, which is almost 14 times as big (2016). These kinds
of data compel customers to question their menu selections, investigating their role in
anthropogenic climate change depending on their eating habits. Thus, uncovering the
environmental devastation caused by a continued engagement in meat production and
consumption has led to many individuals opting for plant-based diets.
