Performing the Competence Assessment
ASSESSOR

Either: MASTER university degree (or equivalent) in a relevant


subject + 3 years of proven professional experience relevant for
the technical scope in which the person is intended to work

Or: BACHELOR university degree (or equivalent) + 5 years of


proven professional experience relevant for the technical scope
in which the person is intended to work

Or: Relevant technical vocational trainings in the field of the


scope of the assessment of at least 2 years + 8 years of proven
professional experience relevant for the technical scope in
which the person is intended to work

Lead Assessor for Small projects additional requirement

Proven experience of working under mentoring for at least


1 year (ISO17020 6.1.6) and at minimum participation and
positive assessment of his/her competences in 5 projects in
the relevant technical scope in which the candidate is
intended to work as Lead Assessor.
(This also applies for existing Lead Assessors, when
expanding their competence into new technical areas.)

For all experts

- In-house and External Safety Expert Training (internal or external) based on


TÜV’s Quality Management System & shall have the ability to present the
main topics:
 Inspection approach based on ISO17020;
 Principles of testing based on ISO17025;
 Principles of certification based on ISO17065;
 Inspection report preparation & signing rules

- The above will be reviewed every 3 years by relevant Technical Manager.
