Story Outline
The king of the jungle once decided to give tails to
all the animals in the forest . He said the tails will
be provided in the order of their arrival to the
meeting.

The fox ,squirrel, horse, dog, cat, mouse got their


tails in order. The last comers were pig and rabbit ,
weren’t satisfied with their tails. So the pig curled
its tail with a twig whereas rabbit acted smart by
stroking it against a prickly bush to make it fluffy.

• Context (location) – Great meadow
• Character – Lion, fox, horse, pig, monkey, cat, dog,
elephant, mouse, rabbit.
• Course of the story (sequence) –
o Exposition: lion realises something is missing
o Rising action: lion announces meeting
o Climax: each animal would receive a tail, on first
come first serve basis.
o Falling action: Some receive tails that they don’t
like. (pig, rabbit)
o Resolution: All animals receive a tail, some
modify it.

• Creative thinking for problem solving – they modify the tails
• Conclusion/Resolution – The lion is not the only one with brain,
all animals are happy with their tails.

Exposition: The lion realizes that something is missing in their lives. And he
comes up with an appendage called tail. He creates one for every animal.

Rising action: The lion announces a gathering at the great meadow and asks
all the animals to gather. It makes the animals curious.

Climax: The lion announces that each animal would receive a tail, on a first
come first serve basis. The rabbit was last to arrive at the great meadow.
The good looking tails were given to the ones who came first.

Falling action: Towards the end of the line some animals receive tails that they
don’t like. (pig, rabbit) Since the rabbit was last to arrive it received a short
stubby tail.

Both the pig and rabbit modify their tails a little to their liking.

Resolution: All animals receive a tail, some modify it.
