The question paper consists of three parts (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Each part consists of two sections.
1. Section 1 contains 6 Integer Answer Type Questions ranging from 0 – 9.
2. Section 2: contains 6 multiple choice questions. Each question has four choices (A), (B), (C) and (D) out of which One
Or More Than One are correct.
3. Section 3 contains 6 Numerical answer type questions with answer XXXXX.XX and each question carries +4 marks
for correct answer. There is no negative marking
B. Marking Scheme
4. For each questions in Section 1 and 3 : you will be awarded +4 marks for correct answer and no negative marking.
5. For each question Section 2: marks will be awarded in one of the following categories:
Full Marks : + 4 If only the bubble(s) corresponding to all the correct option(s) is(are) darkened.
Partial Marks : + 1 For darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option, provided NO
incorrect option is darkened.
Zero Marks : 0 If none of the bubbles is darkened.
Negative Marks : – 2 In all other cases.
For example, if [A], [C] and [D] are all the correct options for a question, darkening all these three will get +4 marks;
darkening only [A] and [D] will get +2 marks; and darkening [A] and [B] will get -2 marks, as a wrong option is also
darkened.

This section contains 6 questions. The answer of each question is a numerical value in a decimal
notation, truncated/rounding off to the second decimal place e.g.

1. The kinetic energy of charged particle decreases by 10 J as it moves from a point at potential 100 V
to a point at potential 200 V. Find the charge on the particle (in coulomb)

2. Each of the plates shown in figure has surface area (96 /  0 )  1012 F–m on one side and the
separation between the consecutive plats is 4.0 mm. The emf of the battery connected is 10 volts.
Find the magnitude of the charge (in C) supplied by the battery to each of the plates connected to
it.

3. A 5.0 µF capacitor is charged to 12 V. The positive plate of this capacitor is now connected to the
negative terminal of a 12 V battery and vice versa. Calculate the heat developed in the connecting
wires (in mJ).

4. A current of 1.0 A exists in a copper wire of cross-section 1.0 mm . Assuming one free electron per
atom calculate the drift speed (in mm/s) of the free electrons in the wire. The density of copper is

6. A voltmeter coil has resistance 50.0  and a resistor of 1.15 k  is connected in series. It can read
