Topic : Electrostatics Physics
SECTION–A
This section contains TEN questions.
Each question has FOUR options (A), (B), (C) and (D). ONLY ONE of these four options is correct.
For each question, marks will be awarded in one of the following categories:
Full Marks : +4, if only the bubble corresponding to the correct option is darkened.
Zero Marks : 0, if none of the bubbles is darkened.
Negative Marks : –1 in all other cases.
1. Two-point charge of 100 C and –4 C are positioned at points (–23, 33, –4) and
(43, –53, 6) respectively of a Cartesian coordinate system. Find the force vector on the –4 C
charge? All the coordinates are in meters.
(A) 9 × 10 3√3𝚤̂ − 4√3𝚥̂ + 5𝑘 (B) 9 × 10 −3√3𝚤̂ + 4√3𝚥̂ − 5𝑘
(C) 2.25 × 10 −3√3𝚤̂ + 4√3𝚥̂ − 5𝑘 (D) 2.25 × 10 3√3𝚤̂ − 4√3𝚥̂ + 5𝑘
2. There are two point charges q1 and q2 lying on a circle of unit radius. Electric field intensity at the
center of circle due to these charges is 𝐸⃗ . Find the position vector of the center with respect to q2 if
the position vector of the center with respect to q1 is 𝑟⃗ .

3. The variation of electric field between the two charges q1 and q2 along the line joining the charges
is plotted against distance from q1 (taking rightward direction of electric field as positive) as shown
in the figure. Then the correct statement is :-
E
r
q1 q2
(A) q1 and q2 are positive and q1 < q2 (B) q1 and q2 are positive and q1 > q2
(C) q1 is positive and q2 is negative and q1 < q2 (D) q1 and q2 are negative and q1 < q2
4. The direction () of E at point P due to uniformly charged finite rod will be :-

6. The fig. shows the distribution of three charges –Q, +Q and –Q on the X-axis. Which of the following
figures shows the possible electric field lines for the distribution?
(A) (B)
(C) (D)
7. A charge q is placed on the axis of two circular faces as shown in figure. If flux through them is given
by 𝜙 and 𝜙 respectively then :-

SECTION–B
This section contains FIVE Questions.
The answer to each question is a NUMERICAL VALUE.
For each question, enter the correct numerical value (If the numerical value has more than two
decimal places, truncate/round-off the value to TWO decimal places; e.g. 6.25, 7.00, –0.33, –.30,
30.27, –127.30, if answer is 11.36777..... then both 11.36 and 11.37 will be correct).
Answer to each question will be evaluated according to the following marking scheme:
Full Marks : +4, if ONLY the correct numerical value is entered as answer.
Zero Marks : 0 in all other cases.
Negative Marks : –1 in all other cases.
