entered into, the dates of the documents making up the offer and its unqualified
acceptance constituting the contract)

viii This document is, under SBC/Q, AQ or XQ/Scot, a Certificate issued by the
Architect/CA. There should only be one such certificate

ix Please note that the date of practical completion of the Works is not necessarily the
date of issue of the relevant Certificate but is the date stated on the face of the
Certificate as the date when it was achieved. It should also be noted that in SBC/Q, QA
or XQ/Scot such certificate requires to be issued forthwith upon such practical
completion being achieved

x The test of practical completion of a section in SBC/Q, AQ or XQ/Scot is practical


completion in the opinion of the certifier and sufficient compliance with the other
matters specified

xi These are required under SBC/Q, AQ or XQ/Scot where there is a Contractor’s


Designed Portion

xii Contract Administrator should check Contract for length of Rectification Period and
note date when it will expire in relation to the practical completion date for the Works
(schedule of defects needs to be issued not later than 14 days after the expiry of the
relevant Rectification Period)
